How hard would it be.....

......to give riders of things such as the TTA and WDW Railroad a different experience by reversing the direction of the ride? I was just thinking about what things WDW could do differently to their existing rides (without going down for a 6-12 month overhaul or drastic changes) to provide a different experience. For that matter, how hard would it be to adjust the guns on each Buzz Lightyear car so they're not mounted but the riders can hold them freely?

TTA - it would be an easy fix. The vehicles are omnidirectional and so is the track and propulsion system. Would just require a re-work of the narration.

The railroad would be a simple change too, except that it's not at all setup to run counterclockwise. The spur to the "roundhouse" comes in at Circus Land's station, and since the trains need to be able to back into the garage, there isn't a way to make it work without replacing the spur track. Also, the block light system would have to be flipped around.

Buzz.....easy, but not cheap, fix. They have hand-held guns in Disneyland, so it would just mean changing out the cars, or at least the dashboard assembly.

Well, with Buzz, I just wish it wasn't so easy to consistently max out your score so early into the ride and then just sit there the last minute or two with nothing to do. So I guess they'd need to replace the guns and increase the max score to at least give us something else to try for.

And how do you do that? Seriously, I've never been anywhere close to maxing out my score, ever.

You just have to know where to shoot at each time for the big scores. For instance, on the first room where the gun starts working, aim for the target on the back of the hand of the big robot on the left (you'll have to turn your car around and back into the next room to do it), make sure you hit the volcano in the second room a lot, and also when you get to the room with Zurg on the right and the batteries on the left, aim for the bottom target on Zurg's ship......it racks up LOTS of points. It's usually by the time I get in here that I've hit the 999,999.

I used to work Buzz and there was a CM (still there last time I went) that would ride by himself, max out the right-hand gun and then move over and max out the left-hand gun before the end of the ride. You might want to try that.

My suggestion is to actually have fun with the game and not go for the "secret" bonus scores that inflate your score. Shoot different targets, try to hit each target once, and have other "goals" during the game since you know it so well. If there were a secret target in the first 1 second of the ride that maxed your score, why would you ever shoot it more than one time? It just ruins the game and I'd argue you're ruining it for yourself.

Even still, you can only do that just so much before it gets old. At least they could do some reprogramming on the targets or something to change it up a bit.

My son and I love maxing out each time. We usually have him maxed out on the robot and then I play starting in the volcano room.

Maxing out the score is fun. The first time I did it I was with my DH. He was surprised because I don't play video games. He called our DS, who was in college at the time, and told him. He didn't believe us until he went with us a few years later...I did it again with him in the car.

Reversing the direction of peoplemover might be interesting, but how cool would it be if they added more track and a 2nd loading/unloading station so the you could use the PM for what it was originally intended...as transportation

I think for Buzz they should, at the very least, focus on getting the laser guns to all work. I know some of them are a questionable and have been subject to quite a lot of wear and tear.

As for the other two, I don't know how hard it would be to change them, but I'd keep them the same, there's something about them that, at least for me, kind of has that Disney charm to them. Though, I still have not gotten over the changed voice over for the TTA. They tried to take the Saturn joke, but managed to ruin it and they didn't do justice to the EPCOT model, which had a better explanation of what the model is and overall a much better voice over.

Sensor which determines if there is adult or child in the seat amd adjusts the beam focus accordingly. Kids get a nice wide beam while it tightens up for adults.
