Ok, i know DLP is obviously in France and i must say i have no problems with the french but just wondered how french DLP actually is?

My partner went on a trip with school years ago, he said everything was in french - even the spiel on the rides.....is this still how it is? Also its not all about the frogs legs & snails is it - they do still do burgers/hot dogs dont they :slurp: !?

You know, I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I only remember three things about the park: the square trees, Space Mountain and the dragon.

I think because it was foreign to me I had trouble focusing and taking it in as a magical Disney park. Looking back, it was more like going to an amusement park instead of getting a taste of Disney magic.

I don't remember everything being in french, though I don't remember being surprised that it wasn't. Sorry, I'm not much help. The only advice/opinion I'll give is that the rest of the country is much better to experience than just the park.

I just visited DLP last week after a gap of almost three years. Previously we had been surprised at the number of non-English speaking people working there especially in the restaurants but this had changed a lot I don't know whether it was coincidence but just about everyone seemed to speak pretty good English-better than my French anyway. Although we didn't go in McDonalds, that was always the most tricky place!

As regards food, its all your usual theme park stuff in the parks and restaurants such as Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe etc in Disney Village. Didn't see a single frogs leg at all.

Its a very pretty and beautifully maintained park, we had a great time and have just booked to go again in November. :D

Our previous visit was in December 2004 and it was so cold our camera froze! It made such a difference this year to be able to walk around in t shirts and eat outside.

There is a dragon in the "dungeon" of the castle that you can view. someone actually just posted a picture of it in Nibbles' photo contest this week.

Jeez, so i take it thats a must see.....

I gurantee that would scare the crap outta me......
It's really not scary when you're down there. And it mostly "sleeps" and breathes hard. The reason we stayed down there so long was to see it wake it. It's really more of a "That is so cool!" thing than a "AAAAAAHHH!! I'm scared thing."

We went on the train as I work on the railway so we get it cheap lol! Actually I love the Eurostar but I can understand you wanting to fly as you live so far from London, its only 2 hours for us.

We normally go for 3 nights, that seems about right although of course it depends on crowd levels. We try to go when its quiet so we get around fairly quickly.

The rides are really good, BTMR and Pirates are both better than WDW, of course they are a lot newer. Crushes Coaster is brilliant.

Of course its much smaller than WDW so try not to compare the two, just take it on its own merits.

We could get a direct train to kings cross that only takes a couple of hours mind but would still prefer to fly......saying that it obviously depend on £'s.....£200 each ive been quoted for return flights - not bad i guess but could go to florida for that :) !!!

I've heard that a couple of the rides are better than WDW - also they are building a ToT arnt they - if we end up going i might put it off until thats up and running !!

I've read somewhere that on a weekend is when locals visit and its mainly tourist on weekdays - i've got that in mind as to when we visit too !!

Its worth bearing in mind that if you fly you have to get a bus transfer to the park whereas the Eurostar takes you to the park entrance.

Tower of Terror is due to open in January. Its looking good, they seem to have built a whole Hollywood street. It was frustrating to see the lift operating behind the hoardings!

When we've been its not been too busy midweek, you're right, locals tend to go at weekends. And avoid Spanish bank holidays, they're manic!

Thanks for that - i'll also keep that in mind....

I've actually seen a link on another post that talks about a coach transfer from the airport - to be honest its next to nothing so i dont think its gonna be that that would break the bank :) !!

Have any of you guys ever stayed in a Disneyland Hotel.....their prices seem kinda steep !! Is the park in the middle of nowhere or are there any other hotels in the vicinity?
