How FP+ Really Works!?!

As a rule, FPs are not held. They are all released at 60 days. Sometimes we see extra batches release for new rides, but that is due to a change in the FP ratio. For example, if Slink Dog is currently able to get through 1000 guests per hour, but with time they are able to improve the dispatch interval and get it up to 1200 routinely, they will up the FP-capacity and release new FPs. They are not purposely withholding them, however. Obviously, they want their on-site guests to have a chance to ride the best rides before anyone else.

I'm betting Disney would love to be using Universal's system where you pay for the fastpass and they make money from it. The first park I every saw with the buy your way to the front of the line was Six Flags and I though, "wow I hope other parks don't start doing this." Then what do you know Universal picked up on it, its only a matter of time until Disney does the same thing.

See...as much as we all strongly dislike when Disney starts charging for something the used to provide in the cost of your ticket or hotel rate, like self parking, I will say that at least when we go to Universal, it is very clear how their rules work, and guests aren't walking around staring at their phones, refreshing an app to try and avoid lines. Instead Universal guests are just focused on enjoying themselves because it's clear and simple how their program works...if you stay at one of their select resorts or buy an Express Pass, you get to ride every popular attraction once with limited lines.

Why not develop a similar system at WDW, where everyone gets to select a Fast Pass for each ride once throughout the day. It's all about crowd flow, and no one on here can tell me that Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios don't often get surpassed in guest attendance by Universal. So if Universal can make it work with guests randomly showing up to whichever Express Pass attraction they choose, don't tell me that Disney can't make it work with an app that helps them plan and maximize guest flow in advance.

Yeah, people who spend more money get more stuff. Shocking, I know.

I went to the Ford dealer the other day with $40,000 to buy an F-150. Can you believe that the guy who spent $80,000 got TWO F-150s!?!?!? It was completely outrageous. I think I'll write an angry e-mail to Ford customer service letting them now how incensed I am. Henry Ford is definitely rolling in his grave that his company has come to this.
Actually, I'm surprised you had to pay anything at all. I thought Disney Ford was giving away FP+s F-150s free to everyone who visited their parks dealerships.

Disney has never advertised FP+ as free.

Their exact words: "FastPass+ service is included in the price of theme park admission... With a ticket or pass, you can make your selections up to 30 days in advance—starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can make your FastPass+ selections up to 60 days prior to check-in for the entire length of your stay."

You: Claim Disney says FP+ is free and then criticize them for not treating it as free. That's the very definition of a straw man argument.

I just booked my FP's yesterday, i did my HS day as my last day at the parks (day 9) so I had lots of options in times for slinky dog. After I finished the rest of my FP's I decided to see if I could get Alien saucer for day 2 of our trip, when I checked there were lots of options for both slinky dog and Alien saucer. After doing all of my FP's i was able to get Slinky dog, alien saucer, FOP,Na'vi River, Frozen, Safari, and we are doing the early magic hours at MK so we will be able to ride mine train, Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh.

If you really want to ride something keep checking every day things open all the time

The only bad thing about the Universal system is sometimes the express lines are pretty darned long. We've had times on rides where the express line wait was probably close to 45 minutes or more... So even when you pay for the express pass it doesn't guarantee anything close to walkon type service... Then again if you really want the walkon experience just pay for a private VIP tour and you've got the best experience, assuming you can convince yourself that the price is reasonable enough that you don't explode.

Having an annual pass I can apply 30 days in advance. Can never get FOP or Slinky Dog when I've looked but can get the new Flying Saucer ride ones at TSL if I attempt to dead on the time when the next day opens up (7am)
