How does online check-in work?

I see a lot of people here talk about online check-in a few days before their vacation starts. Please pardon my ignorance, but I have no idea how that works, how you actually do it, and what, if any, real benefits there are to doing it. Can anyone here enlighten me?

60 days prior to check in you can go into your profile on MDE and do "online check in". Basically you provide all the necessary information to the resort to make your face to face check in a quicker experience. You'll provide a credit card if you choose for room charges, select a pin, add your room request, arrival & departure information if you are flying into Orlando and using magical express. When you arrive you'd go to the "online check in" line instead of the normal check in line which the online is usually much shorter and faster. They have also been rolling out and testing "direct to room" which I got to do a hand full of times and loved it!

I guess I'm late, then! Two weeks to go and I haven't checked in LOL. Thanks, will go take a look at that tonight. I always did it the day before (like a flight.)

You don't have to do it at the 60 day mark. That's just when it becomes available. Earlier you do it, your request are in their hands

Really hoping for this! We are staying at CBR, which has that weird separate building for check-in.
