How does mardi gras affect park crowds?

I know there can be an increase, but is it for the entire week mardi gras takes place? It is just the few days surrounding mardi gras? For specific purposes I am lookin at next year, which has mardi gras the first week of march.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Yes that whole week can be busy not like Easter, Thanksgiving, or Christmas/New Year’s busy but a little heavier with crowds. Lots of the south is off for Mardi Gras so it’s a popular time for Louisiana (where I’m from) parts of Mississippi, parts of Alabama etc that have off. I wouldn’t avoid WDW just because of Mardi Gras crowds it’s not that bad. lol. My family and friends go that time often and love it. ;)

Mardi Gras week brought holiday like crowds last year but that is the norm. There are holiday like crowds here now and most of the year these days.

Agree with the above-we were just down in February during that time. People down south are really into Mardi Gras-l t-shirts, necklaces and lots of spirit-they go all out!
