How does Disneyland avoid burning to the ground

The obvious answer is that they told Yzma and Kronk where the talking llama is.

At MK before the fireworks they close off the courtyard behind the castle and they water down the roofs of Fantasyland and Liberty Square and some of Tomorrowland. Most of the big shells go off outside the perimeter of the park and lots of the debris falls into the support facilities like the roundhouse for the WDWRR depending on wind of course.

I have no answers, just educated guesses...sensors which detect problems that could lead to a fire could easily shut systems down if certain readings seem off or if smoke or fire is detected. It is also possible that fire suppression systems, fire walls, and/or flame resistant materials could have been installed in some areas, even if not required by code, to address liability and insurance concerns. The already mentioned FD along with proper maintenance, safe practices, and improvements in technology over the years probably also help. Again, just pure speculation.
