How do you handle payments?

I was wondering how do others handle paying their Disney trip? Do you make scheduled payments (like a bill), do you save up a bunch then make a payment, or do you save and then pay when your trip has to be paid off by?

We save up ahead of time and only book if we're prepared to pay everything up front. We put it all on an airline-miles-earning credit card and pay off the card immediately. By the time we travel, having made regular charges to the card, 2 or 3 of the 4 of us are flying to Disney World for free.

1st trip: I paid the $200, then a certain amount once a month & had it paid before the 45 day requirement.
2nd trip: I paid the $200, then spread the payments out, once a month, up to the 45 day requirement.
3rd trip: I hope to have enough money saved up to pay it off before the 45 day requirement. It just depends on where & how long we are staying. I have two years to save up!

Our next trip is planned for October 2014 and we have it in our budget to pay on it each much like a bill. I'm thinking about buying a Disney gift card each month and putting it aside for spending money while we are there, but haven't decided about that yet. We aren't big shoppers and we are getting the dining plan so we really don't need much spending money.

I do everything less than 60 days out...sometimes less than 30 days out, so I book room only, pay a deposit, then at the last minute if I decide to add the dining plan, I pay everything off then...

We pay the $200 deposit then make monthly payments like a bill and we also do the Disney gift cards as well. We use these for any drinks or souviners we want. I always do the dining plan as well, that way 99% of my food is paid for in advance as well.

As someone else stated, I like to have the trip totally paid for prior to going. If I can't do that, then I should be going. The goal is to have a good time and not stress about the cost and what I will owe when we get home.
