How do you document the vacation kingdom

When at the vacation kingdom, I've noticed I take alot more pictures than I do video. I used to bring the camcorder alot and shoot footage of parades, fireworks, and attractions.

But now that youtube, and a whole lot of other ways of seeing weekly photo or video updates have taken over...I'm noticing myself taking not just "tourist photos" i.e. cinderella castle from main street, but taking more artsy photos of SSE, architecture, and the merfcove :dazzle:

So how do you document your trip, and have you shifted focus on what you document over the years?

By the way! This made me think of something...remember that young couple that used to be on wdwmagic a few years ago? They were in the college or internship program and they would document with pictures and video various happenings around WDW? They really hit it big when they videotaped the day the refurbed IASW opened in march 2005....anyone know what happened to them?

i agree, once video cameras became smaller, and not bazooka sized, we had it out for practically the entire trip. but then we got home and realized we really didnt need to film the country bears EVERY time we went! in fact when watching the old tapes we realized we filmed a lot of the same stuff, and would end up just fast forwarding through most of it. we still bring it, but now that my siblings and i arent in that "little kids being cute in disney" phase (we are in our 20s!), we dont use the video camera that much. however, now with digital cameras, we take a whole bunch of pictures. or at least, i do, and i never take pictures, i leave that up to other people. and yes i too find myself taking artsy shots, or just shots of the scenery. heck sometimes i take shots purely with the idea in mind of using it as a computer wallpaper later! the last time i went, i took a bunch of shots with my fiance since it was her first trip since she was little and she made an awesome scrapbook out of a lot of the pictures. im contemplating getting my own camera to take pictures for my upcoming trip this summer!

other than photographic evidence, i like to save a lot of the little things from the trip to record my visit. like the emh wristbands and the park maps and sometimes even the reciepts. also i usually will buy souveneirs with the year on them to mark the trip.

I do take mostly pictures as well, but I love having a digital camera that also has a video function....makes getting some impromptu video (i.e. the napkin spinning at Chef Mickey's that became infamous the last time I went) really great. I don't take a lot of video, just some random moments in the hopes of catching something even more magical. :)

And yes, I try to take artsy shots all the time, in search of the best computer background ever...I also like to pose my Pal Mickey in various spots to get some cute pictures too.

I agree. I do this during a lot of shows. Like, during LMA, I took mainly pictures, but then switched over to video for the big finale. (I knew I would never be able to get a good shot)
