How do the hydrolators work?

I know about the process of the bubbles, I just want to know how they create those panes of glass. Because it would seem like they're pretty thin. How thin are they?

Doesn't matter really.. you are looking straight through it - not from the sides, etc so you can't really perceive it's thickness. They were probably made of acrylic or lexan for durability.
