How Did You Miss That!

I could imagine missing all the live shows. Not exactly my thing.

I forget when Test Track first opened, but I've never been on it. I seem to remember one time we waited on line a long time then it was shut down, so I think we just wrote it off.

I also don't think I was ever on the Snow White ride - when did that one open, and when did it close down? I sort of remember seeing it - we must have thought after Mr. Toad and Peter Pan it seemed redundant. And I don't even think the pooh ride existed yet - I've never been on that. When did Pooh open up??

So I'm told!!! But the wait for it is CRAZY!

And people say the screen is grainy, pics/story is outdated! It makes it hard for me to want to wait or ride it :)

I don't know about the pics / story actually being dated...it doesn't feel that way to me UNTIL you factor in the grainy/dirty film that makes it feel like it was shot in the 1970s...

The last time I rode it in WDW there were obvious hairs floating around on the film...which are quite noticeable once it's projected onto the IMAX sized screen as they are now 6 feet long! They really should do something about that...it breaks the "illusion"...

Still an awesome ride though.

I will say that I have missed out on the Mission Space by choice.

I'm not liking the centrifuge...it's the whole acceleration causing denser substances to separate out along the radial direction thing...a lot can happen to my insides...and if I want to just get sick, I can just spin around in circles until I vomit. I have control of this and can stop at anytime...not so when they close the doors on MS.

Have yet to see Fanstasmic. Planning on rectifying that this coming trip.

If you are going during a busy time...look into booking an ADR at Mama Melrose or Brown Derby and you can request the free Fantasmic Dining Package, which gets you access to a reserved area and you can avoid the nearly hour to hour and a half long crowded wait...

The kid and I do it every year, and while it's not as "posh" as it used to be (they used to have a golf cart take you to the venue, so you didn't even have to walk! Now, you just use a side entrance over by the stroller parking...)...it's still great. We show up about 10 to 15 minutes before the show, and get a seat in the first 5 rows!

The only disadvantage of this is that the seating (at least in my experience) is off on the far right side, so you don't get a good "center" view of the show. Works for me, because we'd rather go do rides or something than wait in the line, but if you want a "good center seat"...be prepared to show up early!

I didn't miss out on anything major that I wanted to do. I was so psyched about finally getting to go to WDW that I did my research so I wouldn't miss anything. Partly because I didn't know if and when I'd ever return, so I wanted to get every ride/attraction I had seen or dreamt about done. We did'nt do the dinner shows or any of the Disney tours at first, those came on later trips.

Thanks for the heads up. The wife hates (and I mean hates) to wait in lines for more than 30 mins. I already have an ADR @ Brown Derby after the show for the night that we are looking to go (early Dec which I believe is actually a relatively quiet time @ The World, just before the holiday crush). Can I bundle this existing ADR into the Fanstamic Dining Package?

It shouldn't be too bad crowd wise. I think they only do one showing during that time of year at 9p, but don't quote me on that...in the busier season I've seen them do two showings at times.

Anyhow, I can't speak for that time of year as I haven't been. I go in mid-August, and at that time the line for Fantasmic is rediculous! It fills up the whole promanade outside of the theater and winds all the way out the front gates (which are next to Beauty and the Beast) and sometimes even loops around to Tower of Terror or down Sunset Blvd as far as the bakery...just...nuts...

With respect to your ADR, as I recall they limit the package to certain reservation times. While the package is "free" with your meal (it consists of a voucher which you will give to the CM at the side entrance, where they will guide you to the reserved seating section), I am fairly confident you will need to eat before Fantasmic.

It's worth giving 407.WDW.DINE a call to double check, if it interests you. You'll need to do that anyway to book the package (though, I did notice they finally added it to the website recently...I'd still call).

Normally the kid and I do a late lunch at Brown Derby to get it, though this year we are going to give Mama Melrose a shot (I've never eaten there...so it's something new for both of us).
