How comfy are the fold-out sofabeds at Wilderness Lodge Villas?

In a few months, we'll be visiting Wilderness Lodge and staying in a 2-bedroom villa.

In coming up with appropriate sleeping arrangements for our party, I keep coming back to the possibility of having my two kids (ages 5 and 7) sleep on the fold-out sofa bed. If you have slept on the fold-out before, how was your experience? Are they comfortable? Does having the bed extended block the room to the point where it becomes a nuisance? Is it difficult to fold out or put back (and do we have to ask for extra bedding for it)?

Many thanks for your help!

I have stayed in a studio at WLV, and I remember that the sofa bed was not that bad. In fact, I slept on it with one of my DD's and slept quite soundly! So, you're little ones should be quite comfortable.

Bedding for the sofa bed is located in the main closet of your villa (right when you walk in). You might have to get creative with the pillow situation though, or bring 2 from home. Also, the bedding is comprised of a fitted sheet, top sheet, and that cream-colored fleece-type blanket. If you like to keep the villa quite cool, you might also want to bring 2 smallish blankets from home for the kiddos to use.

As for having the sofa bed out, it wasn't that bad. My suggestion though, fold it up when not in use...unless you don't mind members of your party using the bed to just lounge on:confused:. I have been able to fold up the bed with the fitted, top sheet, and fleecy-blanket still on the bed!

Enjoy your stay!

While not at VWL, my son slept on one at SSR, and said it was quite comfortable. I believe that they use the same model throughout DVC, but I may be wrong. They do not have the bar in the middle like a lot of them seem to have so you don't get that sticking in your back.

On a scale of sofa beds I have slept on, they are a 10. Easily one of the most comfortable sofa beds I have used.

If you throw real bed into the mix, then they wind up around a 7

They really are not bad. Of course the real bed is more confortable, but you are not going to wake up with a sore back and more tired from tossing and turning than when you went to bed.

As the other have said, they don't take up the WHOLE room, but it's a bed, it takes up space, but you can fold the whole thing back up, sheets, blanket and all, in under 30 seconds.
