How can you earn some money for a Disney trip?

I have a few things that I do for some extra Disney cash
1. I have money deducted from each pay..if you never see it you won't miss it
2. I use coupons..I have a set budget for groceries each week, I have a very detailed list that I stick to when I go in the store I use lots of coupons what ever is left of the weekly budget goes to Disney
3. Swag bucks...you collect swagbucks and cash in to PayPal in turn you use the money to buy Disney gift cards
4. Quickrewards...surveys, videos daily tasks etc. you cash in for Disney gift cards
I also sell items online if I no longer need them and just before my trip I usually have a garage sale
Any found money or extra money earned goes in the fund.
There are lots of ways to make extra cash but I will not commit to a trip unless I know I can make the money. If I can't do it until 6 months later than I want so be it, it just makes it more fun to try and come up with new ideas. If you really want to go you will find creative ways to get it.(all which are legal..lol)

Again, more nice ideas. The reason I am even flirting with the idea of a trip later this year is because I just got a decent raise and at my work the overtime flies off the shelves in the summer. This is a mere projection for something that can possibly happen in 5-6 months if everything works out. By "everything" I mean that my parents are paid off, the rest of my debt is manageable, we have money set aside and we won't regret it when we come back scrambling around. That's a tall order, but everyone needs a goal, and like I said, with the raise I got we should be smooth sailing from here on in. It is just whether or not going on a trip is feasible.

I know in September when we went to Disneyland we stayed at Ayres Hotel, which was a nice price, got a sweet rental deal for an SUV for $160 and saved a bit on the flight because we flew on a weekday. I am always looking for an edge.

I sell stuff on craigslist, and sometime my neighbors will pay me to sell their stuff on there, too.

I also have a change jar, I have cut down major on out-of-pocket expenses, such as Starbucks and food at work, we have cut out the newspaper on weekdays, only getting it on the weekends so that we can get the ads/coupons. I clip coupons, paper and online.

We also called our cable company and talked to them and found that we could get a better rate that saves us $15/month.

I used to save all the magazines we got in the mail and sell them to half price books, but they got too picky and only wanted current issues of certain magazines and by the time I save enough to make the trip up there worth it, I would only get like maybe .10 per magazine, if that.

Just look at where you spend money at and figure out what you can cut out or cut down on, even if it's only for a short amount of time, it'll add up. Even with grocery shopping, just get what you really need to survive until the next shopping trip, plan out meals ahead of time helps with that. No major splurges on stuff every week, i'll splurge and add some candy for my candy stash or a few bottles of a certain kind of soda that's hard to find every few weeks.

Every little bit helps! I know how I am going to pay for my trip, but extra money might be a problem. Ebay and garage sales will be in my near future, I can tell!
If free dining will miraculously show up, I will be just dandy!

I never use coins to pay for purchases, I always use bills and get the change and throw it in my purse. At the end of the week I empty out the purse and throw the change in a coffee can. Usually I can save about $500 a year. I do love the idea of putting away a dollar a day the first week, two dollars the second etc. I have also toyed with the idea of buying Disney gift cards every two weeks or so. I got one for Christmas last year and thought that this would be a great idea.

There are a number of things I do...

- I have $ moved into savings once per month
- Check out the $ situation just before my next paycheck and move more into savings if things look good
- Use my Disney Visa (and pay it off) to earn points
- Request Disney gift cards if I meet my monthly incentive at work
- Disney gift cards at the grocery store since it reduces the cost of fuel which reduces my weekly expenses
- Sell things through my want ads at work
- Have my mom sell things for me on ebay
- Sell through a local consignment shop
- Cut back on the extras so there's more to go into savings
- Identify my biggest $ draws and see how I can cut back--- case in point, when grocery shopping I keep track of the cost of everything in my cart on my calculator and set a hard limit
- And if things go well this weekend, maybe I'll start selling some cakes

We've had some financial issues as well due to our side business, but we've managed to make this all work so far. If things are looking bleak and you can't avoid major debt with it...I'd hold off.

OP, I know this is not what you were asking, but always remember that Disney will be there when you are financially ready to go. Generally speaking, it is always a bad idea to force an expensive vacation into an already tight household budget. I love Disney parks as much as anyone here, but it is not worth putting you and your family on a financial cliff. If I were you I would seek extra income and pay my debt down. That would be my entire focus, not bankrolling a very expensive vacation.

Put a penny in your jar on day one

On day two double it.
On day three double that figure.
Keep doubling that figure every day for a month.

You will have more than enough for your trip within 30 days.

Seems easy doesn't it?

$2,689,354.56

That was actually an illustration I used to use with my students. They had to choose between asking their parents for an allowance of $100 per month or the penny a day, then doubling that daily, and justify their choice.

I'll bet you could pinpoint the students that would choose the 100.00 before you even assigned it.

pretty much. The sad part is that even after explaining it all to them, they'd probably still choose the $100.
I was thinking about this at work and realized my math was wrong...I was only accounting for 29 days and not counting all the money you would have already put in your jar....The total should have been $10,737,417.00

That's quite a vacation!

I don't want to have to roll all those pennies!

I also thought of selling blood. I don't know exactly how much you get, but it's something and it helps sick people, so bonus there!! :)
