Just been on a tour of the new fantasy land ( video on I-Pad ) And I couldn't believe how big it is now.Its went from 10 acres to 21 ( double the original size ) So just how big is MK now in comparison to the other parks.I know that AK is still the biggest but just curious ( as ever ) where MK stands in line with its neighbours.Fact..Fantasyland is the biggest expansion in 41 years of Disney.;)

It won't feel quite so big now that BOG has adult beverages! I'm moving into Beast's Castle!

Fantasyland grew, but how much of that was Mickey's ToonTown Fair? How much of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was counted in the past? The amount of land that was never guest accessible until recently is rather small.
Thats what I was thinking. I don't think it got any bigger at all, just a reuse of the land. The train tracks are on one side and there is a road behind it, neither were moved to my knowledge. I'm actually looking at it on a map now (nothing better to do right :)) and all of MK seems pretty confined by roads and water not to mention the tunnels, so could it ever be expanded?

Disneyland has expanded its berm in the past and Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland all have areas that were built outside the berm and railroad tracks. It's just a question of desire, but there is still plenty of room inside the berm at the Magic Kingdom.

The Beauty and the Beast area is all new land in terms of public access. So, that is definately an expansion of the park.

I think in terms of the rankings of the park size at WDW, it goes like this:

1. DAK
2. Epcot
3. MK
4. DHS

But that's just me eyeballing it based on the footprints (although DAK is definately the largest).

Correct. Although Epcot is still the largest in guest-accessible area, aka the parts you can actually walk to, and not part of an animal exhibit. And although I'm not certain, I have my doubts Magic Kingdom is now bigger than Disneyland Paris or Tokyo Disneyland.

EDIT: Just checked - DLP and TDL both have 140 acres, Magic Kingdom had 107 on most websites I read, or 118 now if the OP is correct that 11 new acres were added.

11 acres added to a fantasyland does equate to 11 acres added to the park.

Really? I honestly thought that that was the space previously occupied by 20,000 Leagues way back when. Is that not the case?
If you look, there was some land between the access area and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea that was no a guest area until now.

I could be wrong, but I've read that the 20K land was pretty much entirely taken up by The Little Mermaid ride/M&G and that the BatB area is formerly backstage land. Small parts of the remaining 20K showbuilding were reused for TLM.

10 to 21? You need to remeasure. Or is that just Fantasyland?

Plus remember ALL of FLE used to be taken up with 20K.

The biggest new "expansion" to the MK was Tomorrowland of 1974-5.

You'll also find 1994s Sunset Blvd was a bigger expansion than FLE. As was Carsland.
