How Accurate is WDW on Wikimapia?

For those who that have been, the site www.wikimapia.com I was curious just to see if anyone knows how accurate the maps are at depicting the backstage/off limits areas? I've learned a wealth of information about different areas but I just want to make sure the information I am seeing is legitimate...cause you know everything on the internet is true ;)

It's fairly accurate. There are a few obvious errors, but for the most part, it's correct.

Yeah I know there are a few areas where things don't quite line up but I wasn't sure if there were errors on the map that someone made up. I never knew that the small lake running next to the monorail line before you get to EPCOT was called Bambi Lake.

One area I can't seem to find is where they store all of the busses? I know where I work it's tough enough to find a place to put 40 busses let alone Disney's 200+ busses. I would figure there would be a pretty big lot to park them all. Unless they park them throughout the property...

There are a few places. There's a transportation shop north of the Magic Kingdom, and there's a bus service area toward the south end of property, toward Animal Kingdom. They also stage them at the AAA Car Care Center, but I'm not sure if they park overnight there.

Looking at the map that makes sense. I just was always curious and knew they probably had them out of sight somewhere. A dream of mine to drive for Disney Transport one day but I don't think if I'd make it a career goal out of it, driving a school bus was tough enough.

I hear working for WDW Transport isn't a terrible gig. Having driven public transportation in your past is a plus.

Yeah that's what I figured. My career goal is to work for Disney specifically in WDW and I figured if I had to get in at ground level I would be able to apply my skills in public transport. I'm sure it has it's ups and downs as with every job but if it gets me in thats all that matters to me.

It's quite accurate. Some of the areas I've checked on Wikimapia even use cast member lingo/code names for areas I've worked in. I would imagine most of the people updating backstage areas Wikimapia are cast members that have worked in those places.

Yeah I noticed that there was some lingo thrown in there so my guess was that mostly cast members were the ones adding to it. I know you always get that one rouge person who likes to put random things there that seem legit but really are not. I'll take everything with a grain of salt and a scoop of magic ;)
