How about a Liberty Square expansion?

What about a sleepy hollow addition behind HM? A walkway could be built on the bank of ROA to go around the HM queue and add a more scary/supernatural feel to that area once a headless horseman ride was completed. The walkway wouldn't need to be more than 10 ft wide.

Can't remember the last time that I did HoP (can't imagine it not being there though)... but I indulge in people watching from a window in CHH almost everytime time I am there. Eating or not... it is amazing the level of relaxation that can happen upstairs in CHH. I just sit there and watch the coin press machine.

It is a beautiful area... and more entertainment/education could/should be delivered. There is some area to make it happen. I think the Rapunzel bathrooms would be the area that would make the most sense to expand... and letting the Haunted Mansion have a larger footprint would be incredible. Restaurant may well be out of the question with the creation of the Skipper Cantina. So... I like some of the ideas that have been written but most don't seem feasible or fitting.

What would be a theme specific idea that could go on the adventureland side of LS? Sleepy Hollow ride sounds good but what would be the premise and story behind it?

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
If there was room... I would love the Disneyland show "America Sings!" to reside here.. It would add another attraction to the area on top of that. It was a great little show. Maybe a shortened version with a regular style theatre.

Please...no Haunted restaurant/giftshop/meet and greet/whatever. Leave it the way it is, don't cheapen it. Be thankful it survived unscathed the Eddie Murphy film.

Don't touch the Hall of Presidents. It's one of my favorites. And note, we are now UP to 3 presidents speaking. Back in the day, Lincoln was the only one who talked. As for all the others do is lean, and whisper, that is PRECISELY what I love about the attraction. It is DEPTH, something that Disney does better than anyone else. They lean and whisper and turn throughout the show. Sort of like the birds in the Tiki Room, those who are not sinking are reacting to those who are. Everyone is part of the show, even though everyone is not a star in the show. It is that depth that I love. I always loved watching live performers as they leave the "on-stage" areas, as they stay "in character" until they are completely t of sight. Depth. the full immersion. THAT is what WDW is/was/should be! As to expanding Liberty Square, if there is any room, I'm fine with it. The only room that I am aware of at the moment is if they brought the Mike Fink Keelboats back. But frankly, that was never one of WDW's best attractions. You could roast on the top deck or steam inside. Liberty Square River Boat a much better tour of the Rivers of America

There's a lot of room north of the Haunted Mansion and Small World. The entrance to the Haunted Mansion would have to be reconfigured and moved to the west of the facade to make room for a walkway headed north along the Rivers of America. (This would also fix some of the gridlock around the HM entrance and walkways to Fantasyland, open up the view of ROA, and allow people to walk in front of the HM before getting in line for it.) As others have noted, the Haunted Mansion looks great isolated as it is, so buildings nearby would ruin it. But a meandering walk through the woods to a Sleepy Hollow attraction (with minimal exterior architecture) would fit in with the theme of Liberty Square and the Haunted Mansion area.

The big block that was never built was just north of HoP! Here it is today...

This area, highlighted, is where the building would have been including the covered areas.
The area would have a least 2 small NOS type streets.
The next rendering shows the buildings on the left where the Liberty Bell garden is and the building on the right where the picnic area currently located.

Here is a rendering of DL's proposed Liberty Street from the early 60's to illustrate the "look" of these buildings and small lanes.

There should be some craftsmen like the this Woodcarver or Blacksmith.

Lastly, a building superimposed over the site shows the small lanes but is missing a 2nd floor connection to Columbia Harbor House which would allow for a private dining room or club. Also, there could be access to a Store "Cellar" with a underground access to the Riverboat level dock. "Creates the illusion of how the store owner received deliveries". There could also be a boat docked that has freight to enhance the dock area and look like a busy port.

The Sleepy Hollow dark ride idea is awesome. Wasn't one originally planned for WDW, instead of the Mansion? I'm sure glad WDW's Mansion got built - I like its exterior better than the one in Cali - but I wonder if there's any concept art for the Hollow ride floating around out there...

Love it. But I wonder things would get too crowded right here. Have you considered adding a similar building south of the Christmas Shop?

The buildings would not remove any current walk-way space and hopefully draw people into the interesting spaces.
I have never seen any plans for behind the Christmas Shop. That said, yes, that area could become a small 3 sided shady courtyard (XMas Shops-LTTavern-New Shops) very immersive. It would be nice to see a Cider press or bakery back there making fresh drinks and food with open-air tables. At the moa, it could be developed into a small dock with boats to enhance the "village dock" look.
