I have a 21 year old son that is interested in working at WDW. He has spent the last 2 summers working at a resort in Banff, Alberta. However, he hates the cold and wants to move south. He just got his U.S. citizenship  and would like to get a job down at Disney.
He is considering the Career Start program, any thoughts? He doesn't know much about it :veryconfu . The other idea would be to just go down and apply for a job. If he were to get excepted for work, where would he live? regular CM's do not live on site, as I understand it. Is there a web site or something for him to find room mates or cheap living arrangements? At minimum wage you can't live very large!
I hate to send my baby  so far away! But he has wanted this since his first trip to Disney 13 years ago.
Many thanks, and have a Merry Christmas everyone:xmas:

There are places close to disney but the rent is somewhat high, if he found roommates its a lot better. I have not heard much about the career start program myself, only thing about that is to call them and ask questions about it.

If he has ANY photography experience whatsoever, Photopass is one of the higher paying entry-level positions in the parks. It's at about $9.13/hr and they need full time help... so it'd be more money than attractions or most of the other positions.

Hello Toe Picks,
I am looking into working for WDW as well and moving down from New Hampshire. I would be looking for a roommate to share a 2 bedroom and have looked into some place near disney that dont cost that much. If you would like to contact me futher email me at dwarshafsky@verizon.net

That sounds like a pretty sweet deal when compared to the other wages entry level people get.
