It's been some time since I've been to HOB, but my last few experiences have kept me from going back.
One issue is that the last several times we went we always got seated in the porch/garage area, which is not in main dining room. I love the atmosphere at this place, but it's the main dining room that is really where the best seating to appreciate it. Not getting to sit in the main room is like missing half of the experience IMHO.
On our last visit, every single dish from app to entrée to dessert came flying out of the kitchen at rapid speed and this is NOT a good thing--there was no way the food was cooked to order. We received our appetizer in about one minute from the time we ordered it...literally. The entrees came before we had even taken two bites of our app! The food was not nearly as good as it had been in the past and in general a big disappointment. Add in the fact our meal went by so quickly and that we had not been seated in the main dining area the past few visits, we have not been back.
Hopefully the food is better with Sanchez having taken up with the menu, but it would take more than just a change in the food for me to go back. And it's a shame because the first couple of times we had gone we really liked the food and had much better seats in the main room.
Always loved the rosemary cornbread though!
