Hour Glass lake - Pop Century

Hi does anyone know if you are allowed to fish with a light fishing rod on Hour Glass Lake at Pop Century (catch and release) if you have a Florida fishing licence?

There was a guy fishing there everyday when I was there 2 years ago. He told me they let you fish anywhere there as long as you don't fish off the bridges.

Saw someone fishing down by the 80's this past summer. I guess its okay.

Yep. Was fishing there in july. Didnt catch anything but could see lots of fish swimming around.

Saw lots of fish in the lake too a couple of months ago. They looked small from what I saw.

this might not be what you are looking for but a few years ago i was able to book a fishing trip out of the beach club. a guy takes you out into the epcot lagoon before the park opens and you get to fish for about an hour...caught a bunch of trout and stuff...i think they were trout. It was really peaceful being out there before anyone was in the park...i would recommend it.

Likely large mouth bass. I've done a number of guided fishing excursions and never caught a trout. I think the water is a bit warm for fresh water trout.

On a side note I believe the official stance on fishing on property is only on guided excursions, the fishing hole at pt Orleans riverside, and some canals (not 100% sure on that one). We were at the docks one morning waiting for our guide at WL and saw a CM strongly request a guest quit fishing from shore.
