Hotels near Port Canaveral?

We are considering staying at the Residence Inn Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach the night before our cruise. We called them and they offer a shuttle to the port but doesn't depart until 11:30am. If we book with them we'll probably just tax a taxi so we can arrive when the port opens. Has anyone stayed their? If so, do you recommend that hotel? Thanks in advance.

There is at least one restaurant within walking distance. It was Italian. Nothing special, but fine.
The beach would have been harder to get to. Short taxi ride probably, but not really walking distance.

I have! I liked it a lot. The pool was nothing special, but the rooms were suites and the hot breakfast was nice. :)

Have you used their shuttle service. Price seems good but they don't leave until 11:30. Would a taxi be easier if we want to get to the port as it opens?

Yes, but when I stayed there they didn't leave so late (it was back before the port arrival times). If you want to get there when it opens, a taxi wouldn't cost much. You're very close!

We have stayed at Country Inn & Suites twice now and we really like them. They offer a shuttle and we have been able to be at the port by 10:00-10:15 before. In fact, this last time we were one of the first ones in the terminal. They offered a breakfast also with the typical foods (waffles, eggs, bacon). We will stay there again when we need a hotel before a cruise at the port.

Thanks. We have stayed at Country Inn and Suite before and really liked them.
