My family will be staying at the Riverside Resort in August. Does the hotel have floats for the pools or do we need to bring our own?

When I stayed there in 2000 they didn't supply floats, but I don't know if they allow those types of things in the pools. I know they allow life jackets and arm floaties, but I'm not sure about tubes and lounges.

I don't recall ever seeing a float in any of the HOTEL pools, so I'm guessing that they aren't allowed....except at the water parks, and maybe Stormalong Bay at the Beach Club Resort? As DisneyGal mentioned, they have life jackets available (I don't know if you have to pay) and I have seen children with floaties (although they aren't allowed in our club pool except for the "back" type during swim lessons) I suspect they are banned because it makes the pools very, very, crowded, and the lifeguards have difficulty seeing if anyone is on the bottom. Also, lots of non-swimmers have fallen off rafts away from the edge, and can't get to safety. People often start "rough housing" with them, which is irritating to others, and potentially dangerous.

I agree, I think that they are not allowed because of safety reasons, which makes sense!!!

I've never seen a float in any of our stays at the Disney hotels. I always assumed it was for the safety reasons already mentioned, and also because the hotel pools just aren't big enough to comfortably allow room for floats.

When my son was little, we got him a little float to play with in the pool. The lifeguard would not let us use it because it was not an official Disney product. We got a little boat with Pooh on it and they let us. Now, we just get life jackets from the front desk.
