I am currently working on a hotel called Twin Pines Lodge. It will be kindof like Wilderness Lodge with a touch of Animal Kingdom Lodge. The touch from AKL is the wildlife reservation. However, this won't be African animals, it will be North American animals such as buffalo, bears, mountain goats/rams, etc. (BTW, This IS NOT for Disney...) The resort architecture will be much like that of Wilderness Lodge, the Log-Cabin/Rustic style. Here are some specs:
  • Two restaurants, one food-court
  • Standard views, Lake views, Forest views, Pool views, and Animal Reserve views available
  • Five story “log-cabin” style structure
  • Pool area includes a Zero-Entry pool, two slides, a wading pool, three hut tubs, geysers, waterfalls, and hot springs
  • Eight One-Bedroom Suites, Six Two-Bedroom Suites, Two Honeymoon Suites, Four Vice-Presidential Suites, and Three Presidential Suites
  • Sits on 38-acres of Forest and Wildlife Reservation with a 14-acre lake

I am looking for some freelance concept artists to help me in complete this project! Please post or PM me if you would like to help! Thanks!!!

Also, here is a link to the layout (crappy but it works): http://photoalbums.wdwmagic.com/data/500/3036TPL_Layout.jpg

I'm no artist by any means, but I'm a hotel expert, as you've probably seen in the WDW Texas project. I can help you with names for each of the facilities--recreation, entertainment, dining, shopping, etc, as well as pricing (for the most part), and room amenities and such.

That would be great! I have this in mind as a "deluxe resort" (still...not Disney, just the only term I could think of. all of the hotels I make follow the a Deluxe, Moderate, Value, and Cabin price range). The price I have for the standard room is $120 per night. That is actually cheaper than any deluxe resort at Disney. It is more the price of a moderate! However, the service will be Deluxe...not moderate at all!

wdwswan&dolphin...any ideas yet? lol. I would like atleast two stores (selling sundries and hotel logo merchandise). There will be one store next to the lobby and another at the tip of the Standard View hall (first story). One of the two restaurants needs to be a steak house (Much like a Logan's Roadhouse or Outback Steakhouse but with a rustic theme). The other restaurant can be anything you like (well...I have to approve lol...but come up with your own). The food courts will have pizza, deli, hamburgers, ice cream, and a bakery. Oh! I also would like a pool-side bar! I totally forgot about that until just now. Could you also compile a list of room amenities for each View Section of the hotel? Here is the list of views from highest price to lowest:
1. Lake View (starting at $180 a night)
2. Wilderness Preservation View (starting at $168 per night)
3. Forest View (starting at $150 per night)
4. Pool View (starting at $138 per night)
5. Standard View (starting at $120 per night)

The one-bedroom suites will be in the following locations:
Lake View (3 suites) (starting at $200 per night)
Wilderness Preservation View (3 suites) (starting at $180 per night)
Forest view (2 suites) (starting at $160 per night)

The two-bedroom suites will be in the following locations:
Lake View (2 suites) (starting at $214 per night)
Wilderness Preservation View (3 suites) (starting at $200 per night)
Forest View (1 suite) (starting at $180 per night)

The two Honeymoon suites will be found at:
Lake View (1 suite) (starting at $225 per night)
Wilderness Preservation View (1 suite) (starting at $218 per night)

The Vice-Presidential Suites will be found in the following locations:
Lake View (1 suite) (starting at $250 per night)
Wilderness Preservation View (1 suite) (starting at $246 per night)
Forest View (1 suite) (starting at $238 per night)
Pool View (1 suite) (starting at $220 per night)

The Presidential Suites will be found in the following locations:
Wilderness Preservation View (1 suite) (staring at $252 per night)
Forest View (1 suite) (starting at $244 per night)
Pool View (1 suite) (starting at $238 per night)

Ooh, Ooh, Pick Me, Pick ME!!!
I can help!
Ok, I have a few other things to do right now( I have 2 tee shirts that my school asked me to design for different organisations in the next week or 2), but I definately have time to help.

I just need to know a few things first.

1-What perspective are you looking for? First perspective? Birds Eye View? Layout? Elevation?

2- What do you want to see? Everything that was in your first post? Anything specific you're looking for in any/every room?

3- Any Specific names I need to know? The names of the restaurants? Anything?

I'll get started right now, and when I finish something I'll PM the Images to you or post them here.

By the way, I love the name.

Thanks! I posted a thread on ConceptArt.org in the No-Pay Section for artists looking for jobs about 2 hours ago. No replys but atleast 4 ppl have viewed it! lol.

To answer your questions:
1. Birds Eye, Layout (detailed...not boring like I made), elevations, and interior
2. Exteriors, Lobby, Shops, Restaurants, Food Courts, Regular Rooms (view doesn't matter), Each type of suite, pool area, and view of resort from the preservation (with animals included preferably).
3. wdwswan&dolphin is supposed to come up with some names for me!

Thanks again!

IMO for someone that is paying between 120 and 250 a night a restaurant like Logans and Outback would be an insult to your patrons taste buds and would be like eating at a Holiday Inn vs. eating at a Westin,Loews, and Ritz Carlton. Why not bring a up and coming Chef in that specializes in Neo Wild Game Cuisine.Just about every major town Ive been too has this style of cuisine available and they are usually pack.Heres how my last wildgame meal went.I started of with Buffulo tartar for apps, then vennison chops wraped in phylo dough with a foi gras(mallard not the traditional goose)and brandy sauce on top of sauteed baby spinach on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes. And dessert I had a blackberry cobbler with rosewater ice cream. If you really want to learn about how restaurants can make a hotel go to Vegas. The happening hotels are usually the ones with the best places to eat.Even here in South Beach most of the happening hotels are because of the Dining places and bars. And over half of the people eating there are locals and at the bars as much as 90% are locals like at the Sky Bar at the Delano Hotel.

Okay... thanx for the comments! I've never been to a "nice" steak house that I can think of...hm. Whispering Canyon Cafe is prolly the nicest one I've been to. wdwswan&dolphin, would you mind creating BOTH restaurants now? I'm sure you don't mind, but if you would rather only do one, just tell me and I'll try to think up something. Thanks!

Okay, here they are:
Columbia Basin Ranch: Four-star restaurant with cuisine that showcases the agriculture of the Pacific Northwest. Its decor is reminiscent of Native American tribes of Oregon, Washingon, Northern California, Alaska, British Columbia, and the Yukon Territory. Steakhouse specialities are complemented by vegetables, fish, shellfish, berries, and cheese of the region. Some of the best chefs in the region contribute their fine culinary skills to this restaurant. A full bar with alchoholic beverages and an extensinve dessert menu round out the offerings. Starbucks coffee brews are available too. 500 tables [the number of total tables in the restaurant] will overlook a wildlife preservation consisting of bison and other fauna of the American Pacific Northwest, while you dine on some of the best-prepared food from the region. Entertainment may consist of traditional Native American music. Open for lunch and dinner only. Priority seatings suggested.
Goldenrod Grille: Family restaurant with buffet consisting of traditional Continental favorites. A la carte menu also available. 1000 tables overlook the forest. Entertainment while you dine may consist of storytelling for the children, while symphonic music by composers from Northwest Canada and the United States plays in the background. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
William Clark's: Food court with broad menu consisiting of both "regular" food and more diverse food from the Pacific Northwest. Nearly 2000 tables with views of the wildlife preservation mean this is a bustling place to eat. Open for Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner. The nearby grocery store is open 24 hours, and is stocked with plenty of food.
Prairie Pool Bar: Full-service bar with alchoholic and non-alchoholic beverages. Open same hours as pool.

Sounds great!

I came up with an idea for the lobby earlier today. Let's see what you think. The lobby itself would have a cieling towering 5 stories tall. The dimensions are (now...different than originally) 200ft by 350ft. Giant glass windows make up a majority of the entrance wall and the upper parts of the side walls. The roof also includes 8 large skylights. When guests enter the lobby for the first time, they are greeted by large pines, oaks, hickories, maples, and other North American trees. The entire lobby is filled with these trees. A clearing is in the middle with rustic style chairs, Native American toys, and a big-screen TV built into a rock formation. (this is the childrens area). When you first walk in the doors, there is a large oak tree growing immediatly in front of you. On the tree are directional signs pointing to the Check In and Check Out areas, Restrooms, Children's Area, and one of the stores. The pathes through the indoor forest are poured concrete, colored and textured to look like dirt. The areas that are not paths are grass, leaves, shrubs, rocks, moss, and etc. The walls of the lobby are stone and log. The check in and check out desks would be on the left side of the forest. They would be have stone walls (rising about 4 ft. high) with pine posts on each corner and a roof (total of about 12 ft. high) of green tin.

So what do you think?

Thanks ImaginEAR!

Here's a list of what I need:
-Concept Artists (preferably two or three)
-Creative Developers (names, logos, all that...kinda like what wdwswan&dolphin is doing)
-Model Builders (scaled models of foam-core, wood, plaster, etc.)

As of now, that is all that I can think of that I need. I can take care of the models if no one else wants to. They won't be as good as some of you could do probably, but I will try my best!

Hello Wannabe Walt! I just joined a couple of nights ago mainly looking for discounts, tips etc. on getting back to the kingdom because my family enjoyed it soooooo much.

This is my first look into the Imagineering Section! Pretty cool area! I love to design as well and I will be beginning my exams for my architectural license this year. I would love to help out as I can. I have a lot of projects keeping me busy though. So, back to the subject.....Is this something you like to do in theory or reality or in theory hopefull for reality?

OOO! I never dreamed of this many helpers! But GREAT!!! YAY! lol. Welcome New2WDW! ImaginEAR...good job! That looks good for a standard room! Now, we can do some more layouts, then get to the detailed concept art. SIR90210, right now I mainly need some logo ideas for the hotel, stores, restaurants, and food courts. If anyone wants to do models, it is still open! (again, I can do it if no one else would like to).

I don't want to seem like I'm pushing all of these jobs off on someone else...I'm trying not to! I'm doing as much as I can around here, though some of it doesn't deal with the hotel directly but it deals with future projects that include the hotel. (I will reveal them at a later time)

New2WDW, I honestly am considering this a reality. Some people would laugh at me uncontrolably if they found out that I really planned to go through with this. I realize that it won't happen immediatly or probably not even within the next 5 years, but the more prep time we get, the more revision time and add-on time we have!
