Hot take of sorts

I believe that Walt Disney World was better in the 2000s.

I know it wasn't a perfect decade for the resort, there were some stinkers, but compared to the 2020s? I'll take Soarin' and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor over Tiana's Bayou Adventure and Ratatouille anyday.

Your hot take is rides that rides that were opened in the 2000’s are better than rides that were opened more recently?

Guardians
Yes but they fit the park they are in. Unlike Guardians, Tiana's.
I agree Tiana’s was an absolutely dog water change that was totally unnecessary and cheaply done. Soaring though is just a giant screen ride and the laugh factory show is interactive which is nice since Disney keeps cutting that off. Remys 3D is totally unnecessary also and really diminishes from the ride. Too much screen time, but then again soaring is all screen time.

How’s that for a hot take?

The parks were better in the 1990’s and early 2000’s because everyone wasn’t staring at their phone the entire time
Disagree. Phones have nothing to do with why the parks were better back then. Epcot had their best rides with Horizons and World of Motion. The dark rides were more AA based and not screen based.

uhh some of the most common complaints of Disney these days are how attached to your phone you need to be. Plus having everyone glued to their phone means many people are not “living in the moment.”
Disney is a lot more than just a place of rides.

I do agree that rides should focus way less on screens and more on animatronics

I think the 1989-2005 period was the best era for the parks. Eisner knew what he was doing.
