I don't think you'd notice. Likely you'd just blame the cooking method. This burger is too tough, etc. That said, I wouldn't knowingly eat horse. Venison, rattlesnake, alligator, frogs legs, ostrich sure.

If I ever read again someone asking me " How can you eat that stuff Haggis ?" I swear I'll send them a tin of "Halls" Haggis,and you'll never eat another possum again.

And no, the only meat I eat is beef, chicken, and very rarely fish.

It's all in the perceived value of an animal. In many cultures an animal has worth in 2 ways. As a beast of burden, or as a food source. If the animal cannot provide worth as either one, then they won't keep it. So a horse is no different as a food stuff than a cow, camel, or goat. Camel isn't typically eaten as they have a much greater value as a pack animal, but it all depends on the culture. Where do you think most beef comes from? Either male cows that can't produce milk and have no value, or older females that can no longer have calves. Horse used to be consumed in America until people took offense to it. Dog and cat is still consumed in other countries where they can be viewed as a food source, and not as a family pet that costs money to keep.
