Horrible experience

Last night we were on the phone with disney trying to make changes to our June trip and the cast member on the phone was absolutely horrible. After an hour and a half we ended up canceling our trip altogether and then booking it online in ten minutes. The lady even told us we couldn't book a room at the arts of animation and tickets together. She said we had to pay for the tickets up front and instead of the 200 deposit we were going to have to pay 1400 dollars for the tickets!!!! Has anyone had this much problem before?????

I had the same sort of thing happen when I was booking my trip in July at AoA. The CM I was working with told me the same thing. I ended up bailing on booking over the phone and did it online as well in minutes.

Wow! That's terribly frustrating!

That would be such a bubble-burster for me! I love calling Disney to make reservations and stuff because it's so much more fun then doing it online. That would be such a bummer :(

Always had great help on the phone before too.

Coincidence that both posters in here that's had issues were both dealing with AoA? Could their be a glitch in the system somewhere? Pure speculation obviously, just thought I'd point that out.

I had an issue trying to book the Wild Africa Trek. When I called the CM told me I couldn't book until I was actually onsite and then hung up on me. I called back a few days later and was apologized to when I said what had happened, and was told that person was not correct. It was very weird, and really every other CM I have dealt with has been fantastic. Guess nobody bats 1.000

We have found it a bit touch and go with calling sometimes they are great and sometimes I have known more than them and told them to go to their own website and checked, lets say they were not amused lol

Interesting....I usually always do the initial booking online...inevitably though I end up calling and changing things around with disney reservations. I would have to say this year, I've had some less than stellar interactions a few times while I was making my changes but nothing like the OP.
Another thing I noticed for my November trip say versus my August trip and previous years, the CM's whether it was at resorts or parks on the phones ran the gamut from ignorant to abrupt to misinformed to helpful to awesome. There was no consistency...
I had to chalk it up to MM+ and the challenges the entire staff at WDW were dealing with and an influx of untrained new hires.
The ignorance was really evident with the CM's in tech support...
But sorry to hear about the OP's experience. Glad you still get your trip.

When last year's Stay Play Dine promo came out to the general public I called to add the discount to my reservation. The CM asked me where I was from and when I said it, she said the discounts were only available to the US guests and not even Canada could use it. I said are you sure, she said yes and hung up on me. I called right back and got a wonderful CM that not only applied the discount, but insisted on adding all kind of celebrations to my reservations (we're not celebrating anything but my mom's first visit).

I guess some phone CM's just don't know what they are talking about.

We need time for things to happen.
Hi Yeah..sorry, that was probably my mom. She just got the job with Disney last week. Not only is she new but in her defense it really was bad day-----her Bengal tiger escaped from it's pen, My stepdad (her third husband) had just served her papers, She got into a huge fight with my parole officer and she was drunk as well. I hope you didn't fill the survey out after the call, She really needs the job --- especially now that she's a single mom raising a 44 year old all on her own.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I have always had great experiences. As a matter of fact, I just got off the phone with them about 15 minutes ago and I had a great CM (Lucinda -love that name) on the phone who was patient and answered ALL my questions.

That's horrible!
Are you sure you were talking to Disney World and not some outside booking agent?
