Easy, now!

I agree that AE was very well-done, a true classic, and one of my personal favorites. However, I think it would have done better at MGM. Apparently, WDI thought that the MK should be a place where you feel "safe" and AE contradicted this. MGM, however, is more "adventuresome."

Just a thought. But *sigh* what a shame. I'll be intrigued to see how they pull Stitch off.

(I think AE was welcome based on Mission to Mars's low reception. It IS sad to see AE go.)

Oh I'm going easy  I really wasn't even refering to AE in my original post that much. I ment to focus more on the Diamond Horseshoe and Dreamflight as examples. And I hope that TK and CoP do not fall victom to this too, as they are aimed for the older set and will likely bore young ones.

EPCOT could be a better location. The whole idea of teleportation from another galaxy SHOULD fit the themeing of something in the future for EPCOT (then again, what does these days?)

Whoever finalized the Horseshoe rehab should be doing custodial.

I agree with the 'family attractions' bit. Moreso at EPCOT, however. *sIgH* Axe the empty thrills...add the heart.

Nice. Bring it to Innoventions. . . along with Timekeeper and CoP.

(Ugh...but do we want Tomorrowland to be kiddie/Disney movie land??)

But where I disagree is the fact that the parks are all made on the original concept of FAMILY. What is the bases for the new Magical Gatherings campaign? A place where families can have fun together grandparents to grand kids all at the same time. If there aren't any rides they can all enjoy the campaign is pointless. The balance of 5 and 5 like you said earlier doesn't work to well if the 5 for adults are thrill and the 5 for kids are kiddy.

Do understand that this is all said with the utmost respect. :)

Let me clairify what I mean a little better. I am all for having things that the family can do together. Most of WDW is still like this and that is what makes it so great. I just think for every Dumbo there is nothing wrong with having a Rock N Roller Coaster. But there also needs to be alot of Jungle Cruises and Pirates of the Caribbeans that might be aimed for adults but can be enjoyed by kids too.

And by the way I too see alot of kids in line for Splash and Tower of Terror. But I also saw alot of kids in like for AE that enjoyed it too. But that's not the point I'm going for.

So to summarize I want WDW to have MOSTLY attractions for everyone. But there is nothing wrong with a few attractions for a select group.

OK but don't think I was crabbing or anything, I guess we all can get a little protective of what we think Disney should be. I do agree that thrill rides are what pack the parks now days. I just hate to see the old standards lost.:)

Favorite scene?!? WAAAY too hard.

I'm going for either Space or Yesterday's Tomorrows (Verne through 50s).

Gosh, Horizons. I STILL can't believe it's "gone." :(

My favorite scenes were the omnimax screen and the futuristic farmer with the orange smell.

PS: I hope the orange smell will be back in Epcot when Soarin debuts. I'm pretty sure it is in the DCA version. That will be great. Now if we could just get that original Journey into Imagination smell back we'd be set

Oooh that one is tough. My favorite scene would have to be from the omnimshere through to the end. Oh heck the whole thing is my favorite scene  . I do love the orange smell. I also miss that smell that you used to get on JtI in the White Rainbow room. I am right they don't have that smell anymore right?:lookaroun

I have found that you can almost have that horizons orange smell at home. A company called Citrus Magic has a citrus room spray that is soooo good and is almost exactly the same as that smell. In fact that is the reason I ended up buying it. You can get it online at their website. Or the next time you go down to WDW and are at one of the citrus stands in Central FL see if the gift area doesn't have it, cause that is where I usually get it.:)

I posted this to another thread. If you have already read it skip it but it is subject appropriate.

My mom and I were riding Horizons one day when a thunderstorm moved in. Unexpectedly while sitting in the theater section the ride stops. We sit there and sit there and sit there. Eventually the sound is shut off and they announce that they will be coming car by car to escort us out. It took forever for them to get to everyone. The escape hatch for the Horizons ride cars were in the back of the car where you would lean up against. They opened it up and we had to walk through the whole building on the inside through the halls past offices and such. We came out on the back side by the cast entrance to EPCOT between Horizons and World of Motion which was being remodeled for Test Track at the time.

It was really cool not scary and a memory I will never forget.

I've heard about this. I saw photos the other day of the back of the cars and the walkway. The person's story was the same with how long it took the CM's to get everyone out. Then again, he also said there weren't many people working the ride either. Someone got lost after they took an elevator and no one knows what happened to them.

I'm sure the Seal that was in Timmy's face would have ate him up!
