Im not sure which scene but it makes sense since Horizons was the "sister" to CoP. If you didn't know Horizons featured the same family but took them into the future!!

Remember when it comes to lighting GE is light.

That scene was based on the work of the nineteenth century French futurist Albert Robida.

You see a robot cleaning the carpet with a semi tux while the singer sings “A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” on the black and white TV set with a semi nude woman bathing in bubbles.

This was to give homage to COP since the male announcer and woman are the same characters from COP.

Also Horizons and COP are from GE.

Remember when it comes to lighting GE is light.

I always remember this script saying form this scene:

Husband: Ya know, people have painted some pretty fantastic views of the future.

Wife: And some pretty mixed up ones, too.

1920s or 30s sci-fi home

Correction that scene was actually the 1920s or 30s sci-fi home of the future complete with robots that clean and cook.

It was right after Albert Robida’s scene designs.

Interesting side-note on that scene... the man singing GBBT on the TV was on PBS's show Square-One....though I might be the only one who remembers that...

To be more specific with Horizons, the 'GBBT' theme was played in *five* scenes...with three scores.

(1) Inventions
Immediately after going through a bunch of lighting up clouds and hearing the 'if we can dream it' sparkly music, we see a bunch of animated inventors fading in and out on a screen. Here, an airy, accordian version of Great, Big Beautiful Tomorrow begins. It's not the exact tune...but it syncs perfectly with the song.

(2) Jules Verne
The same music continues...

(3) Man in the Moon
The same music continues...

(4) Robida's Paris
The GIANT painting - here, the old music is identical in tune, but now, instead of an accordian style, it goes full-fledged into orchestra. This version was slowed down in pitch and tempo and was labeled "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow - Jules Verne Version" on Walt Disney World Forever...but now we know this is not the case. It was one of my favorite loops in the entire show - very unique!

(5) Easy Living/Art Deco
This scene, with the robots, the family, the man with his hair being clipped has a totally different tune - it's the actual themesong being sung by a crooner on the television.

And that's pretty much it. The Art Deco male singer version can be heard for a few seconds in the CURRENT Carousel of Progress in the phonograph section.

Another `did you know..`

When the CoP opened in WDW in`75, complete with "new" Great Big Beautiful tomorrow soundtrack, it was part of an overall expansion project that included Space Mountain. On the speedramp exit was the RYCA-1 future home exhibit. The music played here is an upbeat, very 1970s instrumental variation of Great Big Beautiful tomorrow, presumably all the music was recorded at the same time for the new attractions.
