Hoop Dee Doo Refurb?

I've heard rumors that HDD will be going thru a refurb from Aug 5 - Dec. 31...Yet, its still possible to make reservations for it even in Sept. Is it still open during the refurb? I'm going to be in Disney in October and would be devestated if I couldn't get my fill of cornbread and sangria!

Anyone have any idea?

I have a reservation for Sept 27th - so there shouldn't be a refurb at least through then (I hope!!). Not sure about October though.... maybe the squashed the whole refub idea.

I know nothing on the subject but it does seem strange - doesn't 4 months seems like an awfully long time for a restaurant refurb?:shrug:

The last day it's open from what I know is 9/30. We have an ADR for that night. I forget where I saw that 9/30 would be the last day.

Noooooooo! I think you might be right though. When I tried today, 9/30 was the last day it would allow me. Although, looking at past refurbs of HDD, I've seen that they would be open on certain days of the week during that time.

Keeping fingers crossed! If anyone else has any more info, please let me know!

We also have a reservation for Sept 27th!! Ours is the 7:15 show.. This will be a first time for me, my friend goes every year with his family, and since we will be in disney the same exact time, they wanted to bring me along for this.. they say I'll love it! I cannot wait for that strawberry shortcake!!

We are going to the 5:00 show - we're going to have 4 kids with us age 4 and under so we have to feed them dinner as early as possible I went one other time about 9 years ago, and thought it was a great time. Just haven't been able to make it back. I heard the refurb rumor before my ADR's were booked so we were worried we'd miss out this time, but so far so good!

I will be so sad if this is true. We did the Hoop Dee Doo last month for the first time since my DH and I were kids. We wanted to try it again with out kids. We loved it so much that when we are back in the World in October we want to do it with our family (11 of us total). I will be so sad if it is not running
