Hoop-Dee-Doo Questions

I have a trip planned for this August and I'm on the regular dining plan (one table-service meal, etc.). I have never tried Hoop-Dee-Doo so I really want to do it this trip! The thing is that I want the best possible seating and if I understand correctly, that is Category 1. I am happy to pay for that section but I am wondering if I can pay in advance? I would like to use a credit card to pay prior to the event. Can I do that? I am worried that they will deduct table-service credits when we are there and I want to make sure that doesn't happen because I already have my table-service credits allocated for other ADRs.

Any other tips to get the most out of this experience? I'm really excited to try this out! Thanks, friends!

Hoop Dee Doo is awesome and IMHO a must do for sure. I to always call in to book and pre pay w a cc. I have booked it online to which was very easy. I do believe it's a pay in adv requirement for this as well, could be wrong

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
You can use your dining plan for Catagory 1 @ the 8:30pm show. Only for that show you can get Cat 1 if you would rather not pay OOP. (You may have to at first but can get it back once you go and tell them you want to use your dining plan) If you pay OOP you can go to any of the 3 daily shows. We love HDD and use the dining plan for Catagory 1 every time and we rather go to the 8:30pm show anyway. Most times we use the dining plan for it but we have paid it OOP as well before. :)

If you book it online, it will ask for pre-payment with a credit card OR they will hold with dining credits - this is the norm for HDDR since it is a dinner show. We love Category 1 and don't mind paying OOP for it, since we love going to the 6:15pm show. Not sure what show you are planning on, but as someone else mentioned, if you choose the last show, you can use your dining plan credits for Category 1 seating.

I did it online and it prompted me to pay up front. When we last saw it, I was on the dinner plan, yet I was unwilling to allocate 2 dinners to the show, so I didn't mind paying ;)

I think the question asked was can the OP pay in advance and NOT use dining plan credits. The OP made it clear that he/she didn't want to use dining plan credits. So the answer is yes. Call Disney or do it online and prepay with a credit card. Do you guys actually read the post before replying?

My tips:

- They will tell you to show up super-early to check in. You don't really need to show up as early as they say. After you check in (tables are pre-assigned, so there's no advantage to early arrival), you'll be forced... er, I mean, "given the opportunity" to have your photo taken so they can try and sell it to you over dinner. Then you will stand outside until the doors open, which will be 0-5 minutes or so prior to scheduled dinnertime.

- This is one of the only meals (that I know of) where alcohol (beer, wine, sangria) is included in the "all-you-care-to-enjoy" menu, so if you enjoy any of those beverages, take advantage of the opportunity to order a few (within reason, of course).

- You absolutely can use your credit card to pay. You can do it ahead of time as others indicated, or simply tell the CM at check-in (check-in for the meal, I mean - they'll have a podium just outside Pioneer Hall for that purpose) that you intend to pay for this meal out-of-pocket rather than with the DDP, and double-check your receipt at the end of the meal to make sure they calculated it correctly and didn't deduct any of your DDP credits.

- Almost all of the tables (the only possible exception: balcony tables that are at the end closest to the stage, so you're looking down and somewhat sideways onto the stage) have a great view of the show, and the performers will come out into the audience multiple times during the show (both upstairs and down), so everyone will feel included in the fun.

Enjoy the Hoop-de-Doo Revue! It's always a favorite!

I just enjoyed the Hoop with a friend Thursday night.

The only way that your DDP credits would be used would be if you volunteered that you are on the plan. If you pay by credit card, then there is no chance they can take your credits.... If by any chance you have Tables in Wonderland, you can receive the discount on the last show of the night. We had Category 1 seating, and loved the show! More cornbread, please!
