Hoop dee doo or O'Hana? or Neither?

they are totally different experiences. hoop dee doo is a show. you'll get your food and then watch a comedic, musical show. ohana is a family style dinner with entertainment elements, but it is not a show to watch. if you're doing the dining plan, hoop dee doo will require 2 table service credits. hoop dee doo is a wonderfully entertaining show, and it's disney tradition--it's been there forever. my personal preference is ohana, for a couple of reasons. 1) i prefer that style of food to the barbeque meal at hoop dee doo, and 2) i think that ohana is a slightly easier "trek" from where ever you are coming from and going to. it can be a challenge to get into and then back out of fort wilderness. just my opinion--there are people who adore hoop dee doo and go annually.

Ohana is a must do for us and the best food on property in our opinion! Hope dee do food is VERY average

I have to disagree. Hoop Dee Doo has some of the best fried chicken I've ever had (apart from Grandma's that is).

Completely agree! We love it! From the whole show to the fried chicken, to the cornbread, to the included beer or sangria, to the strawberry shortcake! Now Ohana we enjoy too but completely different experience. Their dessert is my MOST FAVORITE (I have lots of favorites) on property!

I dined at both places on our trip during the last week of Dec 2014. I found the food at Hoop dee doo to be much better than O'hana (wings were cold and all the meat was way over done). We were on the DP and chose to pay OOP for Hoop dee doo, it was well worth the money when you factored in the food, show and unlimited beer and sangria (we never had to ask for seconds of anything, the server was excellent and kept us well stocked with food and drinks). If you do plan on going, I would suggest you plan on spending the day at MK. The easiest way to get back and forth to the show is to take the boat to Fort Wilderness, it is just a short walk from the dock to the show building.

I have a reservations for both this upcoming trip. I would like to ask those who know the seating at Hoop Dee Doo, is category 2 good seating? Category 1 was unavailable.

We had Category 2 seating @seahawk7. We were seated up in the balcony opposite the stage with a great view all the action. I wouldn't go for the Category 3 seating, it is along the sides of the balcony at long tables.
