Honeymoon

Just a quick question.

What do they do exactly, if you tell them it is your honeymoon? I have read that you need to inform them, but what specifically do they do, ie. if you are in the parks, at the hotel, at dinner, etc? I was also told that it was a good idea to purchase those mouse ears for newly-weds.

All of the books i have read say that something good happens, however they dont go into detail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

From personal experience....

Honeymoons are great at WDW! The best part of it is when a cast member finds out it's your honeymoon. We did not wear the ears (they were too small for my head :hammer: ), but we did mave honeymoon lanyards and the bride and groom pins on them. Just those little things got attention, even just for CMs and people walking by.

In restaurants we were offered special entrees, given small honeymoon desserts, had our ordered desserts decorated specially and were offered more private or more scenic seating.

At attractions, we were given private ride vehicles (JIYIFF and PotC among others).

Generally you got alot of good attention, many well wishes and offered some small "perks" here and there. Just don't go around announcing it and expecting to world. We would just casually bring up when ordering etc that we were on our honeymoon. Some CMs may or may not do anything, just let the magic happen.

So, I'd say, wear the ears and/or pins...it's definitely worth it. I know we'll never have a trip to WDW like that one EVER again.

Were these Disney Pins you were wearing or something you picked up elsewhere? If they were Disney pins, at which souvenier shop did you get them?

Thanks in advance for any response.

The pins DarkImage is referring to are Disney pins and you can get them at most of the pin trading spots in Disney. We bought the pins as well, but didn't wear them all the time and weren't too vocal about being on our honeymoon so we didn't get nearly the attention and perks it sounds like they did. The cast member who made our priority seating reservations did make a note in the computer system that we were on out honeymoon, though, so we did get a couple of free desserts.

Yea, I was just curious. We were planning on being subtle on the whole matter. I hate when people broadcast stuff like: "its our honeymoon" etc. and then demand something. Thank you for the advice on those lanyards! That is a great idea. We were going to get the hats but not wear them.

Anyway, cant wait to get down there! two months till disney...er i mean the wedding.... :p

Agreed on blatant over advertising of an occasion but the pins seem like a nice subtle way to help spark up some conversation while we are down there.

Nothing should ever be demanded on a special occasion, that's just rude.

Yeah, the pins were the ones you can get anywhere they sell the trading pins. We weren't batant about telling people, if it came up, we mentioned it. The pins and lanyards did most of our advertising, they usually started the conversation.
