This will be my fiance's first trip as an adult, and he thinks we are going to a "kiddie vacation spot" as he calls it. I'm on a mission to change his mind! I'm debating between POR and POFQ for our honeymoon trip in April. What are the biggest differences between the two that might make one more romantic than the other?

POFQ is half the size of POR - both in terms of room numbers and area. Makes it more intimate.
The buses stop at the front of POFQ where they travel around POR. Getting a bus is easier at POFQ
The pool is supposed to be better at POFQ
The only downside to POFQ is that boats to DTD pick up first at POR and at busy times you may need to wait longer at POFQ

In terms of being romantic - its what you make of the resort

Riverside it the prettier of the two. FQ is much smaller; but you can spend equal amount of time at both. I usually stay at POR but eat breakfast over at FQ.

Having stayed at both, my husband and I both prefer POFQ. The smaller size gave it a quieter & more romantic vibe, we thought. We could walk the grounds at night, and it felt like it was just us. Since POR is much larger, we felt there were a lot more people in the food court & in line for the ferry, and just walking the grounds. It never quite captured the same quaintness that FQ did for us. :)

Love both but POFQ is our favorite due to size, less noise, buses and food court. We are staying at POR this time due to deals and princess rooms this time but if it wasn't for that we would be staying at POFQ.

Just curious ... we usually stay at POR ... we can go over to the food court at POFQ to try the beignets every raves about, right?

The DW and I love to stay at POR orver POFQ. We love the mansions and stay at Partier place. Love the fountains, roses and Florida plants. Romantic walk to and from hotel room to main lobby. Quiet pools at POR and a nice main pool to boot. Now if you love the New Orleans style then POFQ is for you. POR has a nice little Bar, Food Court and nice resteraunt at it's location. Boat service to DTD and you can get on a Horse andN Buggy ride in the efening to celebrate your marriage. POR will give your husband that grown up feeling, for you it will give you a beautiful resort and have that magic of being in WDW. Which ever one you choose go and enjoy it. You and your new husband to be only get one chance to listen to the wind, so when it's gone it won't be back again. Congrats on the big day and honeymoon April 2015. In closing which is the most important of all, Have A Magical Day.

I'm so torn! I had picked POFQ, but you may be changing my mind! :)

We're staying at POFQ for our 10th Anniversary trip next month. I was torn too, but I honesty think you can't make a wrong decision here - they're obviously both great, and you can enjoy both during your stay. It's just a question of which one you'll be sleeping at - which isn't that big a deal. Don't stress! :)

There's no bad choice between the two, but the nod should go to POFQ. I've stayed at both as an adult and there is simply something a bit more private and adult to POFQ that Riverside doesn't give. Ideal for a first timer that is skeptical about WDW.

You wont regret the choice. Being on a honeymoon, youd want some place romantic and less kid frenzied. You can take a romantic evening stroll over to PORS on the path and get a horse carriage ride, which isnt too costly and is wonderful.

For a first trip to WDW, I would suggest POFQ. The size of POR can be overwhelming and you will feel like you spend the whole time getting around the resort. You are a 5 minute walk to the entire POFQ resort.
