We upgraded to the Gold Deluxe Honeymoon Plan. This allowed us to stay at the Beach Club, included breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day for 5 days, and admission into all of the parks. In addition, we got a free 1 hour professional photography session and two 'Leave a Legacy' tiles at EPCOT center. All this cost us right about $3900 for the package.

This does not include transportation, but we decided to drive. If interested, my wife did a scrapbook and I put it online. You can view it here:

We couldn't find the ears, so we just wore our roomkey Lanyards with the Honeymoon Mickey and Minnie pins on them.

Everyone noticed, even other guests in the park would stop us frequently. You will be AMAZED at the attention you get. Lots of perks, and probably most of them are not even 'Disney sanctioned'. The CM's are awesome, no doubt about it.

We're getting married in SW Florida at 6:00 the night of the 22, then going to our reception, leaving our reception around 10:00 and then headed 3 1/2 hours north to Orlando. I'm sure the sleep will come much much later though :slurp: Sorry, i had to say it.

Wow! are you sure you don´t want to leave the next morning to WDW? I really hope you can stay awake by the time you get to your room and the real party starts! :animwink:

Congrats! :sohappy:

My wife and I got married there in May of 1999 and had our honeymoon there as well. We stayed at the Boardwalk. Our coordinator with Fairy Tale Weddings arranged to get us an upgraded room to the concierge wing already and the front desk CM bumped us to a 2 floor cottage suite in the courtyard area. That was one awesome room that also gave us the concierge level access. Pretty cool to have a private little lounge with snacks and such open all the time.

As far as the cost, it can literally cost as much as you want, depending on what you want to do. Over $100,000 would not be difficult if you tried and had a large number of guests. We pretty much found the cost to be comparable to just slightly higher than what you would get for the same level of hotel facility in any other city. Obviously, you can do it much cheaper if you want but doing a sit down dinner reception of the quality you can get at a place like WDW and hiring a wedding planner is only so cheap. Also, in my estimation we had about half to 2/3 the number of people come that would have otherwise if we had held the wedding in Raleigh but the people who did not come were mostly more distant relatives and whatnot that in all honesty was not a huge deal if they were not there obviously, fewer people = less cost. If you want to do a small wedding, they also have packages and chapels for just the 2 of you or just a few friends and family as well.l

We had a wonderfull, magical time and as I have had freinds and my brother get married since then, it was such a treat to have everything arranged ahead of time and have to have a professional planner and staff to handle any issues that might have come up. I cannot emphasize enough the problems and last minute little details that I have seen people have to deal with that we did not. All we did was show up at the time the planner gave us on our itenerary and everything was taken care of and went 100% as smooth as it possibly could.

We also used a DJ that worked with Fairy Tale Weddings and used Disney Photographic Services, that way the planner just seamlessly worked with them to deal with everything. Also since Disney Photographic Services can take pics inside the parks, on my desk I have an awesome picture of my wife and myself infront of Cinderella Castle at just after daybreak where the sky is lit and blue but the lights are still on. The other one of my wife on the carousel in her wedding dress looks pretty darn cool too. Heck, we have an whole album of once in a lifetime pictures like that.

All I can do is tell you to call Fairy Tale Weddings and talk to them or drop by the next time you are donw there. The are super helpfull.

My wife and I went for our honeymoon last September and it was great! We didn't get a honeymoon package, but there were a few things that made it feel that way!

We were sent to the front of the line on quite a few rides. They even let us stay on Rock-n-Rollercoaster three times in a row. Almost every restaurant comped at least one thing on our ticket. Almost everyone we passed said, "congratulations." Every CM treated us like royalty.

What made it work was wearing the bride & groom mouse ear hats. People notice these! You can find them in Downtown Disney at the Christmas shop in the back. You can also get them personalized, too, but that takes a few days. They did get a bit uncomfortable simply because they didn't "breathe" well, but you reap many benefits. If you don't want to wear the hats, then get bride & groom pins. They can't be seen as well, but your chances are better than wearing nothing. We had those as well! A CM actually noticed them before we got hats and she let us cut in line at Star Tours - we took the FastPass entrance.

It makes your experience that much more enjoyable. Everyone makes you feel special. Just try it, it's fun!

There were a bunch of variations of them in several of the Downtown Disney shops. We also saw them at the very first shop on Main Street. I cannot think of the name, but it is off to the right just after you come through the main gate. They had all sorts of wedding souveniers (figurines, picture frames, etc.).

Hope this helps.

We bought ours in AK at a pin cart. We saw them all over WDW at various pin carts and gift shops. The pins we bought had a bride pin with Minney in a vail and a groom (bridegroom) pin with Mickey in a tophat.

I'll attach a picture of them if you're interested.

I'm definately interested! Not because of the "perks" you'd get by wearing them, but because it sure is a cool wedding gift for Disney fanatics like us!

when we honeymooned at WDW we received many perks, the "autographed" photo, the balloons, etc but we also received a heart shaped basket full of bath goodies and chocolates. I see the basket everyday it reminds me of the wonderful trip and the little souvineer we came home with :) DD now 7 years old~

oh yeah, we did the Poly luau and it was great. They gave us great seats up front, pulled my husband up on stage for a dance and then they had us the 2 other honeymoon couples up on stage! special lei's for us...very nice~

couple of questions...

all of this stuff sounds great! 3900 isnt too bad for a price. we spent 1500 on our last trip and stayed 5 days 4 nights with an enormous discount, so i wouldnt have a problem spending 3900. We want to stay at the Beach Club and hopefully it'll work out. I hope we can get those ears as well. Even if we dont wear them every day, it'll be a great souvineer. Anyway, what comes in the "surprise" bag? I read in a book that they also give out watches depending on the package booked....

anyone know about this?

In reply to the question, how much do weddings in Disney cost... you can expect to spend a minimum of $5,000. That is for an intimate wedding with only you and your groom. Weddings go up from there. An average wedding costs $20,000. Mind you this is not a wedding in front of Cinderella's castle, THAT type of wedding in the park will start at about $42,000. That would include the wedding and reception only. If you include everything (minus the honeymoon) it will be about $25,000 out of park, meaning the wedding pavilion and a resort ballrooom, Atlantic Dance Hall, or some other cool out of park location. That's for limo, tux, dress, shoes and accessories, attendants gifts, flowers, food, drinks, dj, photography, cake, etc. And that's not even having extras like Mickey and Minnie, glass coach, or anything like that so they can get expensive... but it is all in what you want. If I had the EXACT wedding in Boston that I want in Disney, it would cost at least $30,000, where in Disney, it costs in total about $24 - $25K. Weddings in NE are expensive. So it's all relative to what you want and what you can afford. They will tailor it to you as best they can. AND you can use outside vendors to keep costs a little lower. Like if you didn't want to use Disney Photography (and didn't need in park photos) it might be a little less... not sure :)
