Hello everyone, my name is johnnie and i have been to disney tons of times. This March i will be getting married and my fiance wants to go to disney! She has never went before so i would like this trip to be a special as possible. We are looking at 4 or 5 nights total stay in Florida. 1 day at Magic kingdom and 1 day epcot/dhs. Any suggestions for like a special dinner, a certain show, any help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Jiko, for the special dinner, followed by Cirque with seats as close to front row as you can afford (so the clown play with you before and during the show)...front row if you can get them. You'll need to call Cirque directly to get those, but I've done it twice (front row). It was amazing.

Only other suggestion would be California Grille during (insert current show, but used to be Wishes), but that is a bit harder to swing perfect seats.

"Disney's Spirit of Aloha" is at the Polynesian Resort. This resort is accessible via the monorail.....So a possible plan would be a morning and afternoon at Magic K.....then exit MK and take a brief monorail ride to the Polynesian Resort for a special dinner.....then monorail back to Magic Kingdom for some fireworks and a couple more rides.
If on the Disney Dining Plan this suggestion of mine likely will require 2 Table Service credits. If paying on your own...it will be expensive.

Crunch them numbers though. I always do Deluxe for convenience, but...you really need to look at your total plans first.

Spirit of Aloha is also good, building on your idea, if you go to the earlier showing, as you can see the fireworks from the beach nearby afterwards.

Did that once (not planned, just sortof happened)...and it was fantastic.

I have no idea of course re. his finances. o_O It's his honeymoon so maybe he'd want to splurge. ;)Your posts/ideas are great too.:) The more ideas the better!

Agreed. I am really glad you brought up Spirit of Aloha.

What other great dining have you had at WDW?

Jiko is still top of my list. But, I also enjoyed doing a chef's table at (forget the restaurant, over on Boardwalk).....that was a long time ago. It was fun, but, I think the restaurant is closed now.

Another idea, which I have also done...actually planned it after the first time doing it (another accident) is Cindy's Royal Table during fireworks. The first time it was a mistake, but I made it part of the tradition after that. Easy for good seating because, as it was just me and my kid, we got the 2 top table that is literally right there by the main rear bay window.

Cindy's Royal Table and Be Our Guest Restaurant are really tough to snag a reservation. Especially Be Our Guest. We liked Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. That was with our (at the time) elementary school daughter. But getting back to our Honeymooners....In Epcot we enjoyed eating in France. We ate in Canada too but for some reason I wasn't so happy there....can't remember specifically why though.

Cirque du Soleil is temporarily closed now, unfortunately, but they are planning a new show featuring a Disney theme.

For a restaurant with romantic atmosphere, try San Angel Inn, inside the Mexican pavilion at Epcot. It's right at the front of World Showcase, so you won't have to walk a mile to get there. It seems a lot of people are fussy about the food there, but the setting is great. It's like eating riverside in Mexico under the night sky. You can watch the boats for the Gran Fiesta ride float by, and maybe ride on it yourself before or after dinner. Reservations for this restaurant should not be difficult. You may even be able to get a seat just walking up, but make a reservation just in case.

Oh yes. BOG is extremely popular. I've only been able to snag it once (though, I haven't been back in a while...I'm waiting until they finish all this construction...much to the frustration of my Kiddo...we may do a Halloween Party again though this year. She wants to go back...)

That said, BOG isn't exactly...romantic. Cindy's during fireworks can be.

Let me go dig through my video archive, I'll see if I can find where we did that...I know it's in my 2011 trip report though.

Sad to hear about Cirque....but, oh yes. San Angel is a GREAT suggestion!

Building on that concept, what about doing one of the Illumination View restaurants? Thoughts? I've done Rose and Crown for Illuminations, and that was great...but, I wouldn't exactly call it "romantic"...I mean, it is british food...

Thabk you guys for all suggestions. I appreciate them. I started this at work. Money is gonna be kinda ok since its right after our wedding so wedding cash plus what we will have. I know she wants a good time and all. Any other thoughts? We were talking about downtown disney. I want to take there as well. Time is our big concern due to drive time so we can save money. We have a 17 hour drive. So thats why fl time is limited and disney is 2 days. Also, any special wedding suvineers or items that would make it even more special. We know the wedding ears lol

I think every princess should eat in the castle at least once so if not this trip something for a future trip. I suggest Chefs de France or Tutto Italia in Epcot or Yachtsman Steakhouse in Yacht a Club easy walk from Epcot. Second suggestion is drop a few people from guest list and fly down, only two days will go by quickly

I've driven from NJ to Florida and in Nov. I will do so once again.
Re. Downtown Disney..... it has a new name now.....that name being "Disney Springs"
If you are like me, the best time to go to Disney Springs is on your arrival or departure.
Say for example you arriving to Disney property after driving for hours....so...it's too late to go to the theme park....'cause you are not spending $105 or whatever when there are only (for example) 4 hours remaining. Go to Disney Springs first(it's free of charge).....check in to your Disney Hotel AFTER that.
*
*
Or.........the other method would be to save it 'til the end of your vacation:
You've done 2 full days....done the two theme parks......it is now check out day and you have to drive back to your home state.Using this idea you would start your morning at Disney Springs......spend maybe 2 and half hours.........have an early lunch there.........then get in the car and begin that dreaded long car ride.

I thought Cirque was still closed. Did they open the new show already? (sorry, jumped the gun ....just saw the flowing posts).

The Princess castle is nice, but they don't offer it anymore without the 'show'. I would not recommend Yachtsman, food is sub par. Shulla's or Blue Zoo in the Dolphin would be a better choice.

Though it isn't for everyone, Victoria & Albert's is great for a romantic dinner. My wife and I did it after getting married at the Swan. Amazing food, an optional wine paring, and a live harp. Warning: If you go once, you'll most likely want to go again and it isn't cheap.

Go to Guest Relations when you arrive at Magic Kingdom and ask for Just Married buttons. Ask to keep them blank and take them to Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square (across from Hall of Presidents). They can personalize your buttons really nicely (at a cost, but it's cheaper than buying an ornament in the shop and personalizing that).

In my opinion, 'Ohana is one of the best dinners on property with a really fare price. You also can get premium entertainment if your meal takes place during Happily Ever After. In Disney Springs, FKA Downtown Disney, my favorite splurge dinner is Paddlefish but if that's a bit too much money, Boathouse is a close second. Go to Ghirardelli for a free sample of chocolate!

Be sure to mention when you are dining that you are celebrating your honeymoon. Cast members may surprise you with some magic. Wearing those Just Married buttons will certainly help.

Your ideas are great...but “Just Married” “Happy Anniversary” and “Just Engaged” buttons no longer exist. There is a generic “Happily Ever After” button for those now. :bored:
