I need some advice, suggestions, tips, from whoever had there honeymoon here.

Ive been to the world about 8 times so I know some stuff but I really do not know what Disney has to offer as far as honeymoons go.

If anyone is willing to help that would be great.

biggest tip i can give is to let everyone there know it's your honeymoon. From the time you check in till the time you leave........let everyone know. My wife and I honeymooned there in 2002. When we were checking in to our hotel (CBR) we told the girl waiting on us and she gave us an upgraded room. At this point we got the idea in our head to let everyone know to see what else would happen. we didnt expect much but we got little things here and there which made my wife happy which in turn made me happy

Disney has such great things to offer to do. Here are a few things that my husband and I did/have done either on our honeymoon (in 06') or on the many trips since.

-Horseback riding-though you can also take a carriage ride which would be very romantic.
-Painted pottery, just the two of us.
-We scheduled a day at Clearwater beach, it was fantastic.

You can also take a hot air balloon tour of Orlando, its not through Disney but it would be a great thing to do if you are that kind of person who enjoys it.
-Set up a day of relaxation for the two of you.
-Have dinner at Victoria and Alberts, its expensive but worth it. And you get a personalized menu to take home. Its a great keepsake to remember a magical moment.

Make sure you let them know its your honeymoon, where the silly pins and all, and they will often congratulate you all over the place.

My husband & I honeymooned there in 2008 - it's a really wonderful experience! I"m not sure what your budget is, but here's some suggestions of things that I really loved.

-Staying at a deluxe, if possible. It's a special experience, and not something we always do. But for the occasion, we sprung for the Polynesian. We loved it, and we also love the Boardwalk. I find the Boardwalk to actually be the quietest, with the fewest amount of kids. We found it to be a very romantic resort when we stayed there on our anniversary. Walking the Boardwalk late at night was especially nice. If you do a moderate or value resort though, they are great too! For moderates, I like Port Orleans French Quarter for the peace & quietness of it.

-Having something delivered by Disney Florist. My husband had a glass slipper & flowers delivered to me in our room, as a surprise. It worked out really well! They have all sorts of things you can have delivered.

-Eat at the California Grill. It's on the roof of the Contemporary. If they know you're honeymooning, you may luck out with a window seat which is beautiful. Dine during Wishes for the best view. It's not terribly packed w/kids here.

-Wear your bride & groom ears and buttons. The buttons are free, just ask for them at your resort or at any park. The mouse ears you can purchase at many places in Disney. Wearing these things may get you extra magical moments throughout your trip.

Have a great honeymoon!!

I'm so glad I stumbled on this thread. My husband and I will be taking our honeymoon there this November. How expensive is it? Could we do a trip on like $2-3 thousand? We're planning to be there for a week. Are there any "must-sees"?

We honeymooned there and did very little planning. The only reservation we had was Cali Grill for Thanksgiving dinner and Wishes. It was not crowded and I attribute that to 9/11.

Your budget will decide what you can and cannot do. We found that we were seated quickly at any restaurant we went to when they saw the Bride/Groom pins. All Disney restaurants are kid friendly so it is hard to avoid. However, you can alter your dining schedules to avoid them. Most families eat between 5-8PM. I found dining later has much less kids around. To me, I prefer having the kids around. It just adds to the excitement to view it through their eyes, even if they are not mine.

Stay at a Deluxe resort if at all possible. Rent from a DVC member if you have to. If the Honeymoon suites are available, they will do what they can to get you in one. If you cannot stay deluxe, I recommend Coronado Springs as the first moderate. It is more of a Deluxe resort at a moderate price. It has an amazing view and atmosphere. They have a nightclub if that is your thing.

You can do it for $3000. Random dates in Nov you can get a week at AKL for $2500 for a standard view room. They will upgrade you most likely if there is one to be had.

My husband and I honeymooned at Disney last September on a very limited budget. The smartest thing we could have done was create at Disney Honeymoon Registry. You select things that you would like to do on your honeymoon and wedding guests can put money on a Wedding Gift Card that you can use anywhere around the world. It makes it fun that a family member could give us $50 for a certain restaurant, or $15 for a "Wedding christmas ornament"... In the end you choose what you spend it on, and it was a life saver for us.
