I'm sure this isn't what I hope it is, but do you think it has anything to do with them turning HISK into A Bug's Life theming? Let's hope it's something promising!
That was the first thing that went through my mind when I read this.
However it is only shut down for a few days. I would say that it is only for cleaning.

This always seems to get whispered every time HISTK closes for a refurb. I don't think we're ever going to see a Bug's Life overlay. No sense in getting rid of an old property (HISTK) for a slightly less old property (10+ Years).

Of course, they got rid of HISTA for an older property, EO, so I guess anything is possible...

I think they should just get rid of this altogether - I mean, do kids these days even know the movie?

Forget kids, I would venture to say most of the Cast Members at DHS are now at the age where they don't remember this movie!

Perhaps Disney believes its presence in the park generates interest and will inspire kids to seek out the movie upon returning home? ....Yeah, let's go with that.

I don't see HISTK playset going away anytime soon. It is tucked back into an area that otherwise wouldn't be used for much and there is minimal upkeep. It does give restless kids a place to unwind for a bit too.

Being that it's only 4 days I doubt it's much more than repainting and fixing up things.

My son has never seen these movies... has no clue what it is... but ADORES this play area! He could spend an entire day in there.

The area does really to - it's a great place for a kid to burn some energy after sitting for 30 minutes at Backlot Tour or Lights Motors Action Extreme Stunt Show - and a place for kids to play while a parent waits in line to get food at Studio Catering Company.

I agree it's not a memorable movie, but the concept is still a nice one for a playground. And it is probably the nicest playground in WDW, IMO (overall, I'd even give it the nod over AK's playground. Although I could definitely see some perferring AK.)

My kid likes it too. And her parental units find the shade pretty agreeable.
I agree too. My girls did see the movie once, they thought it was cute, but I don't believe they have seen it in a few years. But they love the play area, and I agree I love the chance to sit down in a bit of shade for a while while they play.

Do they even remember that a TV Show exsisted as well? I mean it's posted on the entrance of the theater area before entering..And it's airing on The Hub.

I don't know why, but it seems like every time we are at the park, this play area is always closed. Not, like, closed for refurb... Just closed for the day.

It just seems to have the oddest operating hours. Why is it not just open when the park is open??
