I think this area would be ripe for redevelopment if that were to happen, I feel like the refurb means they want to keep this area around for longer. What would be kind of fun would be to retheme and redo this area to a endor or kashiik play area

This is such a great place to for kids to burn off steam and has great potential. I hope they add a little needed magic to it and not just a coat of paint.

lol I remember climbing up to the top of the nets and seeing the eerie foreboding Tower of Terror making me nervous for later!

I also remember this is one of those places where they played the Behind the Waterfall song which I remembered in my head for nearly 10 years before I found it.

It's not really all that close to Star Tours and the proposed Star Wars area, unless they really expand it towards that direction (into the SoA) and not into Echo Lake.

Some sort of Pixar overlay -- with Bug's Life making the most sense and being an easy modification -- is a better fit geographically in the park.

Bug's Life redo is WAY overdue but would be quite welcome.

I've never understood why they don't expand the play area over the access road behind it. With all of the multiple levels in the play area, they could easily take it up and over that access road and no one would ever know the access road was underneath it.

They could double the size of the place!

This thread seems to happen at least once a year.

A bug's life would be more pixar, but not more relevant enough for Disney to spend the dough on when kids just like to play on a really elaborate playground.

Its funny I only mentioned bugs life in passing and now everyones jumping on that idea.

Anywho, I love how when they get the idea to put pixar stuff in DHS It was pixar place, which was just toy story. That never really made sense to me. Why not call it toy story street or Buzz Boulevard? the layout shows this playground to be close to that area so if they moved the entrance to the other side (and destroy my childhood memories lol jk) and redid it for bugs life that wouldnt be too insane or unbelievable. However the one problem still being does anyone still really know bugs life anymore outside of animal kingdom and dca?

Temporary or not, the kids seem to love it. It's a great place for them to run around for a break from the boredom of the backlot tour and all of the 'movie magic' . My grandchildren love the 'Big Dig' at Animal Kingdom, as well.
Forget the kids! I'm 45 and I'll be taking a climb this October, much to the annoyance of my teenagers I am sure!
