Hollywood Studios to be divided into lands?

I definitely would love to see a new ride or two also associated with this. But most of all, I'd love the opportunity to grab a beer at the bar from the first Star Wars movie, then walk several hundred feet and grab a beer at the bar Marion owned in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Make it happen, Disney.

Also, let me be the first on this thread to joke: does this mean we'll be seeing Howard the Duck: The Ride?

My sincere apologies if this has been discussed on the boards somewhere else (I do try to keep up!), but this is the first mention of it I've seen: http://www.slashfilm.com/2007/08/17/disney-plans-to-open-george-lucas-land-theme-park/

There has been discussion about this idea of a land, but it's definately good to see some more detail. I like it, if it's true. Here's the link to Jim's page, rather than the slashfilm article which is just summarizing it:

That would be worth the price of admission!!

I love the idea of "lands" in the studios. I think that will really help the flow of the park. And as long as they have a Muppet land Im all for it. I cant wait to see what else comes of the lucas area.

The idea of "lands" is a proven formula for success over and over. It would bring DHS up to the standards of the other parks at WDW.

Yea that was always a problem for me with MGM, nothing made a whole lotta sense as to the layout. It seems so simple you wonder why they never tried to do it years ago.

If this happens I want to see Face Characters..

I am wondering how much of this is merely extrapolation by Jim Hill.

But, looking at MGM, it was always generally divided by "streets", and I think that should remain the model. Sort of like Adventureland, I would rather see that area by named Action Way or Epic Ave. or something instead of tying it directly to Lucas only for future direction, but I think the concept remains the same. It also would allow for some Disney action to make its way in, too, as time goes on.
