Hollywood Studios Sorcerer Hat

This is the first I've heard of anything about the hat leaving DHS --- I work there, but in my line of business, we aren't usually the first to hear anything. So, I'm not saying it isn't going to happen.

I do like the hat, but like so many have said, it ruins the theme and feel of Hollywood Blvd. But, then again, we need an icon. The theater doesn't make a good icon because it is a duplicate of a real-world icon. The water tower kind of works, but not like the icons in other parks. And moving the water tower to the front wouldn't make sense theming-wise. The water towers are icons of backlots and studios, so sticking it first thing in Golden Age Hollywoodland wouldn't make much sense. It needs to stay on the backlot (which needs its fair share of updating and redo).

As someone mentioned earlier, if the hat goes anyway, it can't leave the park. After looking on Google Earth, it looks like it could fit quite well at the front of the park where the Christmas tree goes. Even though it takes up more room than the tree/film reel does, the area is more open anyway so it wouldn't feel massive in this space. I think that would work out quite well.

And a note on WoC replacing F! --- don't get your hopes up. The F! lake is far to small to get a duplicate of WoC. If they scaled the show down quite a bit, it may work. But that would also require removing that massive mountain. Personally, I think Fantasmic just needs a nice little update. Bring in the new movies. And yes, incorporate Pixar movies as well. Maybe not make full blown scenes out of them, but play them in there --- they are now considered by most to be Disney classics. But most of all, replace the Pocahontas scene and get a better looking riverboat for the end. I'm interested to see just how Tokyo Disneyland does their Fantasmic! (or will that be at DisneySea?...either way...). Hopefully some updates soon, even if it is rated one of the best Disney shows.

So the Earful Tower at the entrance does not make sense as an introduction to the Golden Age of Hollywood, but a giant, contemporary hat does?

I wasn't saying the hat fits the theme any better really -- but very valid point. I was just saying that the hat would physically fit in the area, as some people had proposed.

I suppose we could kill two birds in one stone from my previous post by keeping the hat in DHS and updating the Backlot Tour --- bring back the boneyard, and add the scrapped hat ;-)
