Hollywood Studios question

Why isn't Hollywood Studios much of an active studio any more? It was so cool watching them develop cartoons, probably would be just as great to see them animate their movies on computer screen on top of a whole bunch of other things we would get to see. I really miss all that, I used to live that park.

The same reason why Universal Studios Florida isn't a production facility as much as it used to be. Talent in that business tend to not want to be located in Florida, across the entire country from where all the big shots work.

Eisner shut down the Florida Animation Unit in 2004.

Also, I believe someone mentioned that while many states and cities offer tax breaks and other financial incentives to lure in filmmakers and other production people (Vancouver and Philadelphia being two notable examples off the top of my head), Florida never really bothered. So, it's an issue of cost as well.

Compared to CA & NY, Florida has much lower corporate taxes...and no state income tax.

The demise of Digital Domain in West Palm Beach didn't help either.......
