Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom?

Whenever I ask anybody what their favorite park at Disney World is, they always say Magic Kingdom or Epcot (I do it, too ). But what about the Studios and AK? They seem to never get any love. I know they both aren't in great shape right now, but which one would you prefer? If you had to make a choice to go to one of them, what would it be and why? I'd go to HS. I love the theming to the park, and TOT and Rock n Roller Coaster are two of the best rides on property. So, what do you guys think?

Of those two, probably Animal Kingdom.
What it lacks in attractions it nearly makes up for by being truest to its original concept of any Disney park. The space between attractions and in most of the queues is, if anything, too well-researched and detailed. Its food rivals EPCOT and it has some of the best shows on property. If only they would add another land or two (so they could afford to fix a few things) and keep the place open past dusk it would be one of the best parks in the world.

MGM, on the other hand, is just a mess. It has some good attractions here and there but the overall theming was never particularly strong to begin with and other than Sunset Boulevard the aesthetics of every area in the park are utterly compromised by cheap and piecemeal changes. Rather than a new land or two, the whole thing needs a California Adventure-style rebuild.

AK for being such a well designed park. I recently stayed there from open to close 9-6pm. I had one of the best days of my vacation there. And I didn't get in every attraction. My biggest gripe is the sad state of Kali River. It only had one effect working, the smell of smoke before the drop. No mist, no fire, no water squirting out of statues after the drop, no geyser at the lift, no spinning wheels on truck, no squirting elephants, foliage cut way back on lift. SAD.

But HS to me has no charm or design aesthetic at all. ToT saves it.

Theme goes to AK. It's a beautiful park. But it lacks content, and that's why I go to a park. You can say that DHS lacks content, but I can spend much more time at DHS than I can at AK. I'm usually done with AK by 10 or 10:30 (assuming I arrive at opening), whereas I could be at DHS until noon or 12:30. I have to go with DHS over AK just for that reason. And one of the most enjoyable moments of my last trip was One Man's Dream. I just love that attraction. Plus, ToT, RnR, and ST are all great rides. And TSM is a nice one, too.

Hollywood Studios fan over here. I love television and movies so this park is right up my alley.

Love GMR, RnR, American Idol (yep, get over it), Indiana Jones, LMA, One Man's Dream, Toy Story, I could go on...

As much as I love DHS, Animal Kingdom is where it is at. All the details, animals, and exhibits, it the perfect combination of true Disney style, and I think Walt would have loved it! Now i will say that if DHS was still like it was back in the 90s, that would be my favorite park! DHS will always be full of great memories for me especially since I got to meet and tour the studios with Michael Eisner once when I was a kid!

Animal Kingdom! The atmosphere is truly immersive with all of the lush greenery. I love taking it slow for a bit in that park to enjoy walking through all of the meandering pathways. :)

I'd say for every 10 trips to DHS, I have 1 trip to DAK. I think DAK is beautiful and quite possibly has the best shows on property, but the lack of attractions (especially for how big the park is) really makes it tough to enjoy for more than a few hours. The attractions that do stand at DAK are not the very good either. Everest is fun (yeti doesn't bother me too much), Dinosaur is a solid attraction also, everything else is hard to ride for me. Primeval Whirl? OWWWWW! :hungover:

My name implies that I really want to love the park, but......

DHS by far. I love it there. Animal Kingdom bores me I'm afraid (sorry). Been there twice but skip it each time now. Just not enough there, glorified zoo.
