If people like him because of what he does in Parks, shouldn't he stay in Parks?Josh D?

Surprising that the article that started all this didn't delve into Chapek's anger at the Board of Directors. They had to have approved of 'the mentoring' deal.
Iger wanted out before the worst of the pandemic and gave the board an ultimatum? That's the story no one is telling. I'm not so sure that Chapek and the Board aren't on the same side here.
It's never really been explained how the board went from rejecting Rasulo and Staggs and adopting the "no internal candidates" idea, to endorsing Chapek.
There will perhaps never be someone from Parks and Resorts to take the top job. It will be someone seasoned from the entertainment industry.Josh D?
I mean, Chapek was from parks and resorts...There will perhaps never be someone from Parks and Resorts to take the top job. It will be someone seasoned from the entertainment industry.
For very very short timeI mean, Chapek was from parks and resorts...
Mr. Legacy didn’t want the next CEO to outshine him. That's the story no one is telling. I'm not so sure that Chapek and the Board aren't on the same side here.

Not quite ebert…but not bad eitherThat's not a comment for this thread.
It's a review.
Because no fans asked for it…It's never really been explained how the board went from rejecting Rasulo and Staggs and adopting the "no internal candidates" idea, to endorsing Chapek.
Chapek doesn’t have any background in the entertainment industry unless you count selling VCR tapes and DVDs.There will perhaps never be someone from Parks and Resorts to take the top job. It will be someone seasoned from the entertainment industry.

Goes to show you we aren’t good at researchChapek doesn’t have any background in the entertainment industry unless you count selling VCR tapes and DVDs.
Whatever he did in merchandise made some believers out of some for him to move up the food chain.Chapek doesn’t have any background in the entertainment industry unless you count selling VCR tapes and DVDs.
Where Iger “stashed” people…contrary to what you would think.I mean, Chapek was from parks and resorts...
Disney has “moved around” people for 20 years…and it’s strange. Look at the staggs/rasulo thingWhatever he did in merchandise made some believers out of some for him to move up the food chain.

“Hey you’re the Disneyland guy and you’re the accountant…
…now you’re the accountant and you’re the teacup guy!”
That’s weird even at that time
Um, what do we like that he's done in parks? Genie+?If people like him because of what he does in Parks, shouldn't he stay in Parks?
It’s not what we like. Its what the Board likes, in terms of increasing profitability. I think we theme park enthusiasts have to look past our myopia and realize the company has gone ”all in” on being looked at as a tech company, and that the Board wants its stock to perform like Netflix or Amazon or Apple, and not like Carnival or Marriott or Six Flags.Um, what do we like that he's done in parks? Genie+?
He’s been sold…at least internally…as a “savior” to parks. I had a lengthy discussion late one night at Victoria falls in DAKL last year and I almost made a couple of the CMs cry (I have that effect…unfortunately unintended) about “Josh”…Um, what do we like that he's done in parks? Genie+?
