Hollywood Dream: The Ride to join USF line up?

Any truth to this? An acquaintance of mine was willing to bet money that this was a green lit project through Universal Creative.

Not sure how I feel about this if it were to be true. :veryconfu

I think it would ruin the park's atmosphere if it was an indoor version I'd be excited about it. The thought of a coaster deystroying the Hollywood skyline at Universal just kills me.

Thanks for the video, I didn't even think of USJ when you posted this. I think it looks really cool and frankly at this point in time beggars can't be choosers, so if this is what they want to build then I'm for ANYTHING new.

It looks sorta cool at USJ, but I definitely don't want to see all that track around the park here. It fits the look/feel of that park better. There isn't really any room to put a station and lift hill here either.

i agree, not something that i would want to see inside USF plus it reminds me of the hulk with the metal tunnel covering the lifthill. heck id be happy with more dark rides

It will never be built at USF because 1.) Terminator already takes up the space that's utilized for the station at USJ and 2.) The KidZone is basically on the other side of Hollywood. There's no room. With several coasters already on property, it also isn't necessary. Plus it would completely destroy the theming. I can't believe it was even allowed in USJ.

While I like the fact that it looks like a thrilling coaster that the entire family can ride since it doesn't flip you upside down a million times, I hate how it ruins the Hollywood area. I wouldn't necessarily be 100% opposed to them adding a coaster, but I don't like the idea at all either. They need more rides about being in the movies, not just a visible roller coaster that ruins the theming that's there already.

It would be IMPOSSIBLE to build Hollywood Dreams outside in Universal. Go to the Hollywood section of the park, what's 2 feet behind all the facades? The Hard Rock Hotel. If they built a coaster, it would ride right up against all the windows of the hotel, and even if they were okay with that, the noise alone would wake the entire hotel.
Hell, over at Islands of Adventure they have to close The Hulk earlier some nights and the closest hotel to the Hulk is the Royal Pacific which is at least almost a mile walk from the entrance to Islands of Adventure.
It's safe to say this rumor is bogus, unless the attraction is indoors.

The only time they close the Hulk and DD down early is when the park is open past midnight and that is because of the neighbors behind the park not the hotel. As for the this ride, I think it would be a terrible addition to the park, I really hope Universal does not do this!

I've been to USJ and believe it or not, the Hollywood Dream coaster doesn't really mess up the Hollywood skyline. It's also very smooth and very quiet. All you really hear are the screams from the riders. I too wondered if the coaster will come to USF, but the problem is space. Where will it go? Where will you put in the turnaround helix? Where will the queue line and load station be?

If the coaster does come to USF, it might need to go in World Expo, around where MIB is. That's the only open space that I know of at Universal.

Things that make you go hmmmmm...

...not that screamscape.com is the gospel but maybe there is more fact than fiction on this subject.

2009 - Hollywood Dream - Rumor - (11/2/07) I’m not sure if these mean anything or not, but I’ve been told that orange survey markings were spotted on the asphalt “in front of the Theatre and Television Production building just behind and off to the right of the Boneyard (about 40 feet outside the portable queue barrier.)” I kind of forgot about it, but the large empty Boneyard location would perhaps be an ideal location to locate the station for the Hollywood Dream coaster.
(10/30/07) Screamscape has heard that Hollywood Dream project has been bid out to several major coaster manufactures right now: B&M, Premier Rides and Vekoma. All three of which have provided coaster hardware for Universal Orlando before… B&M with Hulk and the Dragons, Premier did Mummy and Vekoma did Flying Unicorn and Woody’s Nuthouse. The only problem is that of the three… only B&M have experience with Hypercoasters, though Premier Rides has done it’s share of large outdoor coasters, but I believe they have all been LIM launched creations. Vekoma… ummm… no. I don’t even want to think about what a Vekoma hyper would be like.
(10/26/07) For the last several weeks I’ve been hearing a new rumor that honestly I just wasn’t ready to believe. Not that it wasn’t believable… but the way things are shaping up in 2009 for the Central Florida theme parks, it was just the icing on the cake for an park enthusiast’s dream come true. If the rumor holds out, we’ve heard that Universal Studios Florida may be planning on adding their very own version of the Hollywood Dream coaster added to Universal Studios Japan earlier this year. In that case, it was a family sized junior hyper-coaster style design made to swoop, turn and dive over the entrance and Hollywood themed area of Universal Studios Japan, all with an on-board soundtrack system allowing riders to choose one of five different soundtrack options. Now I’m hearing that a similar concept is in the works for Universal Studios Florida in 2009 since in all likelihood we wont see the Harry Potter area completed until late that year or in 2010. Universal’s previous track record says that they would buy a B&M most likely for this project, but right now if all the rumors hold true (SeaWorld & Busch Gardens), that means we could be seeing three new B&M coasters added to central Florida in 2009 along with a rumored spinning Ratatouille coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios followed by the rebirth of an all new version of Space Mountain as well. Like I said… a coaster enthusiasts dream come true. Do we dare to dream?

couldn't they place this in the production central / new york area... it could go above some of the areas currently backstage (leaving room for the areas underneigh)

then again, they might have a different idea for this attraction if they are bringing it to USF.

I just really hate the idea of this ruining the theming that Hollywood has. I like the coaster (even though I'm not much of a coaster fan), I just really don't like it here.

there's no thematic consistancy there, i mean, plop down ugly coaster, name it something, add marketing slogans, etc.

very weak, i hold universal up to higher standards (which isn't much)
