New this year: World of Color: Season of Light. Maybe a throwback to DCA's original christmas show, Luminaria? Also a new Festival of the Holidays at DCA which will incorporate the popular Viva Navidad event.

Returning favorites.. Believe in Holiday Magic (still around after so many years!?), A Christmas Fantasy Parade, Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle snowfall, and it's a small world holiday.

Yet another Christmas version of WoC? I wasn't a fan of the second winter version, so I'm glad it's gone, but why can't they just revert back to the first version that was actually good? Guess we'll have to wait and see with this one.

I'm looking forward to the day Disney finally retires A Christmas Fantasy and Believe.

Here's what the Miceage Update said last month about Festival of Holidays, which they scooped weeks before its announcement today.

"This November and December, DCA will roll out its first “Festival of Holidays” (the current working title) wine and food event. Taking up space in the Hollywood Backlot area as well as the Paradise Gardens area, and some of DCA’s long parade route in between, this new festival will gradually shift focus from November to January.

Starting with traditional Thanksgiving offerings in November, Festival of Holidays will then move to Christmas and Hanukah offerings in December (with the Pier’s popular Viva Navidad! show plussed up and part of the dining experience), before ending with a celebration of Three Kings Day in early January and then Lunar New Year through late January. It’s a clever way to package a Disney wine and dine event, and Disneyland’s entertainment team has done well in presenting these cultural offerings in the parks in recent years. You can expect lots of local artisans and performing groups to be part of the Festival of Holidays cultural offerings, in addition to Disney’s food and drinks and decor. And if it helps get some of the crowds out of Disneyland during Christmastime, even better." http://micechat.com/136176-miceage-disneyland-rumor-update-monorail/

Well, what I mean to say is that I'm assuming that they will get it right this time. I'll have to see it for myself this November.

Winter Dreams got it right in 2013. Then execs destroyed it in 2014, against the wishes of the creative team. Hopefully Season of Light will be free of needless meddling and the great creatives will be given the room they need to do the show well.
