Holiday Inn Main Gate East??

Sorry if this has been asked already. (I did a search and didn't find anything). In august, we're staying off site for the first time We got a really great deal on priceline for the Holiday Inn Main Gate East. Has anyone stayed here and what are your thoughts if so? We're a bit skeptical about staying offsite although all of the reviews seem to be positive. Do you have any suggestions or advice. I know there are a few cheap eats nearby. Thanks in advance

We have been doing our yearly research on area hotels. Apparently the Holiday Inn Maingate East used to be another hotel called FunSpots or something like that. The property has been completely renovated and by looking at the photos, looks very nice. The only complaints I saw were about the traffic noise on US192 and screams from Old Town Ammusement Park and the curtains not closing all the way. The price we saw was $61 per night. Not a bad deal through Travelocity.
We have stayed on US192 many times. The area is a little bit "seedy", but all in all not bad. And yes, several cheap eats around. Hope this helps you out.:wave:

This is the old Travelodge Maingate East, it had been under renovation for a couple years and their contract was up but Holiday Inn wouldn't give them the flag until they finished. So they swapped over to Fun Spot Hotel for a couple months until they were done.

I have toured the property and it is one of the nicer hotels in that area. You won't regret it for that price!! :animwink:
