Holiday Inn Disney World

Calling all Disney Insiders.
I'm trying to find out what happened to the Holiday Inn on Hotel Plaza Blvd.
It's been shutdown since the hurricanes and has been sold at least once.
Does anybody know the inside scoop?
I heard it was owned by the same people who own Universal Studios.

I don't know about that one but we had reservations for the night that we arrived in Orlando at the Holiday Inn Nikki Bird back in Oct. We received a letter that it had been sold but they would still honor our reservations. Feeling a little uneasy about it I called to cancel and move it to the Radission, they had no record of it. It kind of made me mad at Holiday Inn & the new place. I'll never made reservations for Holiday Inn that far in advance again. By the way, we loved the Radission.

Official word, it's still under renovation. It's no longer managed by Interstate Hotels, and I believe it is owned by the same people as the Buena Vista Palace (their sister hotel)

Why not? That was a fluke, and is one that can happen in ANY hotel chain.
