I think the whole idea of revamping attractions for the holidays should stay in DL. WDW has a lot more room to go all out for Christmas (ie.. osbourne spectacle of lights, mvmcp, etc). We dont want to be bombarded by holiday stuff in the parks, do we? :xmas:

I think you're smart, good looking, and funny, tiggerish! :D :animwink:

wow jonnie, i never knew you hated Christmas.

Micbat: Bah, Humbug.

There's a rummor that they will start it up at MK next Christmas, but to be honest, I have no idea. It seems like every year, there are rummors that MK will get it the "next year".

True that. I have a friend whose a cast member and pretty reliable and they said that this would be the last year it would be at Disneyland and that it would be packed up and shipped here for WDW for a couple of years.

Ive never heard of this before

Its the Haunted Mansion Christmas overlay that's on during the holidays. It includes Jack Skellington, Zero, and Many other characters from the Nightmare Before Christmas Movie.

The story is that Jack has dressed up the Haunted Mansion for Christmas time. The outside is decorated with Scary christmas decorations and more.

New soundtracks are been added so ghostly music in the tunes of many christmas carols play. The Ghost host explains what is going on and introduces you to jack in the stretching room. As you get on your doom buggies, you see many different things. Go to the Disneyland Scource. Com for more info.:)

The "Scary Christmas Carol" soundtrack is used in the queue only. Before that, I believe they used music from the HM in Paris in the queue? (correct me if Im wrong)

The new soundtrack was put together by Danny Elfman, the composer of the music in Nightmare Before Christmas (and pretty much every other Tim Burton film ever made).

He also redid most of the music inside of the attraction. Originally, it was mostly ghostly versions of christmas music. Now it is mostly music from the Nightmare Before Christmas. I have heard both soundtracks, and I think they are both great! I think the "scarols" are kinda cheesy, though...but thats ok :)

Actually, the scary christmas song is used at the end of HMH where little leota usually is which is replaced by Jack's girl friend for the HMH. Plus, the Haunted Mansion in DLP theme song is used in the Fastpass area I think.

They used the same music both years for the finale sequence in the graveyard, is that what you are refering to?

Last year, they had "scarols" in the queue, with lyrics posted up, which were christmas carols with a scary vibe and twisted lyrics to them. I never heard these in the ride...

I'm headed to WDW this year for Halloween and one reason is because the ORIGINAL Haunted Mansion show will be up and running on Halloween night. Of all nights of the year, that is the one night when the HM should be in its true form. I would be happy to see the HMH version AFTER Halloween, but not ON Halloween, even though it features plenty of Halloweeny stuff. But Halloween is the HM's big day! It's own special holiday!

I hope the Haunted Mansion Holiday never comes to WDW. Otherwise, I have to start traveling to Japan to celebrate my (almost) Halloween birthday with the Haunted Mansion sans Tim Burton.

i think its open before Halloween so they can have the makeover open longer. Otherwise, there wouldn't be much sence to going to all that work for a ride that will be open 2 months!
