HM Fast Pass

Is it just me, or is the fast pass at the Haunted Mansion a horrible idea.

1) There really is no line, so it's just one big sweaty mess of people in an outdoor hallway waiting to get into the A/C

2) There isn't room at the entrance for all of the Stand-by people walking on, people getting FP, people trying to use their FP, and people waiting to use their FP :hammer:

3) It doesn't offer you much of an advantage at all.... You skip maybe 5 minutes worth of a wait, and I saw people wait 10 minutes to use their FP... They just end up crowded with everyone else, still waiting to get in the Mansion, then they still have to wait in the Indoor jumbled mess to get on the ride.

Isn't there a way to actually make this a line rather than a Mob Scene both inside and out?

When we're there in December each year, the FP at the HM isn't even available. I can't speak for the busier seasons, obviously. Seems like there are other attractions where a fast pass doesn't really do you a lot of good during the less crowded seasons. Rockin' Roller Coaster is one that comes to mind.

True, HM really doesnt need it right now.

But when the pirates movie came out, the attraction saw a big boost (Not noticable to a lot of people), but a big one nonetheless.

Going off that result, the system might be a good idea come November, but only time will tell.

You're not kidding about POTC. We spent a week in June and a week in late July and the crowd differences between those two weeks were unbelievable. Usually POTC is a walk on and if you do have to wait it is no more than 5 minutes. But after the movie came out we waited 25 min for it during the slow times of the day (About 3 or 4 hours before closing). I was shocked. I had never seen lines for POTC before.

Well, when you look at it, a lot of people wanted this to happen for a long time. Its a old cult attraction, then you make it into a movie, throw two of, IMO, best actors, who can act very well and have the "Attraction factor" and you've got a hit, I knew when I saw "From the Director Jerry Bruckheimer" on the teaser trailer I knew it would be good.

So hey, it'll happen, and maybe when HM comes out we'll see some merchendise, I mean they have some now but BS, a little cart.

I must say that the final poster for HM has a great tagline "Check your pulse at the door.....if you have one"

The reason HM has FP is because Disney wanted FP in all the lands. This is also why JC has FP also.

Is that true? If so, that seems like a pretty impractical reason to install it on an attraction that wouldn't appear to need it or benefit from it.

I don't think WDW's pirates draws the amount of people that DL's does. DL draws more of a local crowd that is mostly hardcore Disney nuts who love the classics. DL's pirates is also a little nicer than WDW's.

In most of the morning, HM doesn't have much of a line. But I've often see the line exit far back, twisting and turning bigtime in the afternoon...It seems random!

JC...Ugh...that's a HUGE line...

Every time I've been on JC since I got here on Aug 13th, the ride had almost no line ... but that's because I always get to MK about 2 hours before closing!

During the peak seasons like summer, the lines can get VERY long for certain rides that would have almost no line during off seasons. They install the FP machines, then just use them during peak times. If attendance is expected below a certain point, they won't use FP. At my park, It's Tough to be a Bug stopped FP about a week ago. I practically walked on when I was on my day off twice!
