HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

A redevelopment of the mountain wouldn’t change the queue / load layout.

HSM in Hong Kong is actually better than Anaheim; the latter has the first section of projections non functioning. In HK we enjoyed it more than the vanilla version.

Does the average guest actually care there isn’t a balcony above load or where the prop ship came from? If you want a cheap overlay with massive contradiction in theming look at Paris.

Being the token IP representation in the whole park I’d be surprised if this changed.

I wonder if they’ll just go all in on Marvel…maybe Guardians and/or Captain Marvel

To me it's odd to have SM and Orbitron as the only non-Marvel rides in the land.

A GofG retheme for SM and renaming the flat ride (Astro Thorbitor?) make more sense than keeping it Star Wars, even if it's the only SW attraction in the park.

They sell stark expo and wider Tomorrowland as two seperate lands so it makes sense to me that they would keep stark expo in the corner. It’s just since the was quinjet now drop tower anchor e ticket and it’s courtyard don’t exist yet stark expo feels like a wonky extension of Tomorrowland and not its own land

I think it’ll be fine once the drop tower is finished to keep them as mostly sequestered lands. The only thing from stark expo that really faces wider Tomorrowland anyway is the tony stark gift shop and that’s more about guest flow than theming design

Didn't they also theme the interior of the Starliner Diner with Marvel? And the stage under the remainings of Autopia is also used for Marvel themed shows or encounters. Having a Tomorrowland area with just Space Mountain, Orbitron and Comet Cafe looks very poor. While other areas like Frozen or Mystic Point also have very few things, the theming there cannot be compared with Tomorrowland. Therefore, I think changing Space Mountain into Guardians of the Galaxy and making the Orbitron a Stark factory creation would be the best option, removing completely Tomorrowland and making the whole area Marvel's Stark Expo.

It would also help further differentiate it from Shanghai, which has a much better Tomorrowland lineup than Hong Kong. At that point, the only land the parks share would be Fantasyland.

Although I do understand the argument that Hyperspace Mountain is the only Star Wars representation at the entire park (which is also something that differentiates it from Shanghai, which has no Star Wars rides), so it doesn’t necessarily make sense to remove either.

Shanghai has Tron which is a successor to Space Mountain. Tokyo is building a whole new $400 million mountain with launch and multi-dimensional tilt track, Space Mountain Earthrise. Frankly, I think the entirety of Tomorrowland needs a revamp, not just HSM. Stark Expo maybe considered a mini land but as long as it is within the Tomorrowland footprint and sightline, they need to be cohesive in theming. What is jarring about current TL are the “modern” Marvel buildings on one side and the rusting 2005 buildings on the other. Every other TL around the world has a consistent design architecture. HK’s TL used to have a consistent theme before Autopia was torn down. I worry this stark contrast will only worsen once TOT is built and if the 2005 buildings remain.

As announced Hongkong Disneyland will have its biggest parade in history. Friendtastic.

20th anniversary version of Momentous!

and new castle stage show.

No news of Paint the Night though.

HKDL’s 20th Celebration.

From Scott Gustin, the Friendtastic parade will feature 11 floats. New character costumes. The 20th Anniversary Momentous will feature more stories with new projections and drone effects “that will envelop the entirety of Main Street USA”

From that quote, it sounds like we maybe getting the return of projection mapping on Main Street USA. Main Street USA used to have projection mapping before the large and visually obtrusive projector boxes were removed in 2024.

I wasn't expecting to suddenly get 2 parades and with Momentum being a good show I'm not surprised the park is only getting a day parade. I don't like the name of the new parade, but I can't wait to see the floats and hear the music. If HKDL was missing something, it was the parade!

Is there a date for the beginning of the festivities or just summer 2025?

The music should be from the same composer who did the Reach for the Stars nighttime spectacular from Tokyo, Ron Colvard.
