You would think, at a minimum, all the things promised 40 years ago would show up in the sequel.

I hate to agree, but I am afraid Mel Brooks wont be able to make a Mel Brooks movie in todays world. Imagine Blazing Saddles trying to come out today or High Anxiety or To Be or Not to Be? I love Mel Brooks movies but I dont think they will allow Mel Brooks to be Mel Brooks.
