8 HOURS OF WDW VIDEOS

I have 8 hours of EXCELLENT MINI DV footage of every ride in WDW. Just returned from a trip in October. I would like to transfer them to my computer which I have a program to do it with, but once transfered to the comp...the movies are dark & real bad. I tried editing programs to "brighten" them but it does not work. Can anybody suggest anything? I'm real desperate.

There must be a option somewhere on the software that transfers the video to the computer that makes it brighter
